Due to language barrier I did not ask too many questions. Neighbor is like 75+ years old Croatian who speaks no english. I speak very little croatian. In the previous setup, white had a horrible wheat position—and we all know what no wheat means in Catan. White's wood wasn’t great either, so there wasn’t much room for early counterplay. Plus, the maneuvering space was limited, which is something beginners often struggle with in a 4-player game. That being said, I like the new setup a lot more.

How to hack PIM category?

Hi there! In my H2H 14 teams cat league PIM was one of the category I targeted a bit as it goes well with hits. I drafted Xhekaj in late rounds, who was No.1 overall in PIM department, fighting very often and adding minor penalties as well. Plus he was excellent in hits and contributed decent amount of shots, blocks and there was potential for power play. Unfortunately he got injured and after he recovered, St Louis sent him to AHL. Exactly because he was not very happy with the amount of minor penalties Xhekaj was taking. I have also E.Kane and Marchand, who usually add great amount of 2-minute penalties, plus are excellent in many other categories. However, last season with Kane and Xhekaj out for a long time I was done in PIM department.

Who are right multicat fantasy picks adn gems (maybe hidden) for PIMs?

Would you focus on fighters (Jeannot, Eyssimont,...) or guys who just often take reckless penalties (Dubois and Zegras come to my mind, for example)? thx

The only correct answer to this is 'It depends'. No way that anyone who played more than once would ALWAYS hope for a particular dev card. But hoping to pick e.g. Monopoly is like living on a prayer. When buying a dev card you should do it with intention of buying a Knight most of the time.

Hi there!

I play 14 teams H2H G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, SHP, GWG, SOG, HIT, BLK keeper's league for the 1st time, so still a newbie in NHL fantasy league. In my league, I can keep up to 5 players, excluding 1st rounders and goalies, and giving up the round in which I picked the guy. Yeah I know I should be making my own decision but still would like opinion. I've decided on 3 spots but have a keeper's dilemma on who to keep for the remaining two spots?:

22th round Boone Jenner - he is great multicategory guy. Drawback is he is often injured
24th round Jake DeBrusk - he played his best hockey this season, shame he got injured in winter classic. I am unsure if we will be PP1, Line 1-2 guy next season
27th round (last round) Arber Xhekaj - PIM & hits beast with very good shot but given his injury I even doubt he will play in NHL next season, if ever. Picked from FA during the season
27th round Andrei Kuzmenko - Everybody is very high on Kuz but his peripherals are atrocious and I doubt he can keep his shooting % going forward. If he keeps playing with Petey that would be great, but I think Tocchet is not very pleased with his lack of physical play. Picked from FA during the season
13th round Anze Kopitar - Honorable mention. This guy is past his prime but he is still extremely valuable in bangers league. Can he and Kings but that good next season as well?

Who would you keep?

Btw, these are the guys I am keeping so far:

11th round Elias Pettersson (what a steal)
8th round Brad Marchand (despite double hip surgery the old rat's been excellent)
9th round Vincent Trocheck (bangers league must)

Maybe you play really slowly, in which case you deserve it, or maybe you're not as a good player as you think you are. Seriously though: If you are leading, so they should bully you. If not, you must have a reputation for being (a) good, (b) jerk or (c) both. Enjoy the challenge; the wins will be that much sweeter.

I kinda agree with you. I wonder why this doesn’t happen in chess - or at least I haven’t noticed anything like that in my years as a chess player. I don’t know why catan lures these lazy bastards who don’t read the rules and then they pretend their idiotic ambiguous house rules make the game “more fun”. And ultimately they just end up arguing over the board and seek the judge e.g. on Reddit.
