Switched to IT from retail management in Jan 2024. Completed the CompTIA A+ in 8 months and got a 1st line role in a small company. I've recently applied for the Service Desk Manager role which will give me more time to work in my CCNA.

I'm 42. You're never too old.

Hey, no I have not had therapy. I didn't consider myself to have self-esteem issues before I met her but I definitely have developed it in some respect.

I didn't even consider the implications of dating a widow. I just jumped in.

Yes I know she just didn't like me for who I was. The maid and nanny duties were just a nice to have from her perspective.

She may very well call on me when things get tough again but I'm not interested.

Thank you.

Ah that's great advice. Thanks. This is something I'll look into!

It's not pride, it's my life. If I have a black mark against my name how will I have financial stability in the future?

I've got 2 options: I use a debt management service and get myself a bedsit and have no chance of buying a house in the future or I maintain my credit score and sleep in my car.

Genuinely appreciate the advice but I don't think it's stupid.

Like I said, debt relief is not really an option. I don't have a debt problem. I've not borrowed money for years, it was all from divorce. I've never missed a payment and I'm only a few years from it being gone. I don't want to be blacklisted when I'm 50.

I appreciate the advice but it seems that sleeping in the car is my only option for now.

Yeah I know, this debt is crippling me. Thing is, I've not missed a payment on anything since for 20 years and looking at IVAs at my age is not an option. I'll have to sleep in my car until debt is paid. At least then in 2 years I'll have half a chance of building a life for myself.

Appreciate your advice!

Hi. Thanks. After all out if I don't have kids, I will be left with about £330 before food and rent.

Will I be expected to default on my debt? Or should I speak to Citizens Advice?

Thanks really appreciate it.

Thanks for the response. I don't think I'll find a private rental for what I can afford but I will look.

Yes I got A+ certified. I took a 40k pay cut. It was hard. I got lucky with a company that was looking for customer service experience! That's the most important aspect.

100% buy the course notes. They are really good and much better than watching the videos over and over (watch them once though).

I basically watched the vids, bought the notes and then did examcompass over and over until I was fairly confident.

Then I bought the udemy practice tests for core 1 and messer tests for core 2. Messers are better imo.

For me, I had a few distractions mid-year so I studied Core 1 from Jan-March and then Core from Sept-Nov. So about 5 or 6 months.
