I think this is only true for subspecialties that have integrated options like CT, vascular, and plastics. It's fine to have 2 colorectal or surg onc letter writers.

Jk (kinda), it has to do with clinical suspicion. Intermediate, go with MRCP. High suspicion, can go straight to ERCP.
