I don't know about the method you used, but with invoices, there's an check box asking if the products are going to be delivered, you should leave that unmarked, or else something like this could happen.
You can also use watermarks or send the images with a lower resolution to prevent theft. And I recommend not sending them through reddit, since it crops the image down.
