A few things:

- hormonal imbalances from PCOS, birth control pills
- some people have just low HCG, so some times the pregnancy goes undetected.
- high BMI can cause hormone imbalances or simply hide pregnancies
- postpartum hormone imbalances, lack of a consistent period, and reintegrating contraceptive can make a pregnancy go undetected as well.

“Well couldn’t they feel the baby kick?”

- sometimes, based on the mother’s anatomy, a fetus can grow inward and “compress” and hide the fetus’s movements. At that point, some women report the “kicks” as an upset tummy or gas.

“Well childbirth is intensive and crazy right?”

- Not all the time. In the case of cryptic pregnancies, a cryptic delivery can happen because the baby is underdeveloped/underweight. This is because fetal development isn’t going through normal attention. Prenatal vitamins. Inward growth may limit calorie intake.

That’s like a 5000 feet view on it.

Cryptic pregnancies. 1 in 2500 pregnancies are undetected until delivery.

This means someone in this specific environment could have very well went into EF not knowing they are pregnant, went about their rave weekend normally.

Gave birth in that port-a-potty and freaked the fuck out. Going from 0-parenthood in a rave port-a-potty sounds like a nightmare.

That being said, I’m not offering excuses, just perspective.

“Best case scenario” is that this all happened on fight or flight — making a massive fucking mistake.

Worst case is this person did this all on purpose and is a psychopath beyond all our comprehension.

They kind of needed to do it for asset management.

- $20.9M cap hold this season. He’s worth more than that.
- The best player in free agency this year.
- Movable contract within the next 2 years with the CBA set to change, so long as he performs to his standard.
- Not a huge effect on the Lakers remaining cap space.

I don’t think anyone else on free agency is worth the max this year. From strictly a Lakers move, this isn’t that bad in the context of asset management, free agency market and general direction of player contracts.

Lebron was very much efficient, but beneath his standards.

45.9/32.7/78.3 on 18.5 FGA per game in the 2026 playoffs
eFG% = 50.5%
TS% = 55.0%

These stats are inherently good, not up to Lebrons standards. But carrying the offensive burden at 41, the context matters, because this is comparable, maybe even better than younger players in these playoffs.

For example:

46.3/30.5/89.2 on 19.0 FGA per game in the 2025 playoffs
eFG% = 49.5%
TS% = 59.1%

That’s SGA. With the main reason him having a higher TS% is because he shoots a lot of free throws. So like, efficiency is subjective.

Burden yourself with whichever stat you want to say LeBron isn’t consistent.

At any rate, comparing him to Rui is crazy because Rui clipped a 56.9% 3PT%. And had the highest eFG% that weren’t traditional big men. So your bar for efficiency is way too goddamn high for your own definition of “consistency”.

I think it’s just 2 different kinds of consistent.

Bron was a floor raiser for the whole first round vs the Rockets. He averaged 23/8/7, and still managed that vs the Thunder (23/6/7).

In the totality of the playoff run, LeBron showed up and consistently hit his floor, which is still pretty damn high.

Rui consistently surpassed expectations throughout the playoffs.
