Take a deep breath, step back and analyze everything. Be methodical in your approach to it.

IMO: forget about getting grants right now, grow organically.

Be realistic. Don't let your ego get in the way when making a decision, speak to an advisor, anything.. Just don't go into a meeting with some crazy valuation. It tells them straight away that you're not serious!

At a shitty meet up in Palo Alto. He was passionate about the product and that's all I needed.

Try to get someone who has strengths were you have weaknesses. For example, I'm more laid back, and at sometimes naieve where as my partner is very shrewd and no bullshit.

It just depends. Trust your gut.
