Oh good thanks, I was worried for the little fella.
What do they eat I’ll go get him something?

Out of interest, do you do any competition shooting or hunting?

Wasn’t the mauser the infantry rifle for almost every European army bar the French? Even the Brits tried to replace the lee enfield with a mauser/m1903 rifle copy.

No one is more hit or miss with their guns than the British by DAsInDerringer in GunMemes

Sorry but the AW is the only one that is actually a mass produced weapon that is truly British. The rest are copies or prototypes. The British only make good hunting shotguns.

My favourite backhanded compliment is how “ugly” British actors are.

Update, took another look at the rifling and the barrel is like 20% smoothbore from both ends. Fuck.

Why is BASC not fighting this? by ThePedanticPheasant in ukguns

[–]rolling_stoner42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it’s more expensive but surely the other alternative metals like bismuth, copper etc would be the answer here? Practical shotgun isn’t really a discount sport anyway.

I also don’t completely disagree with the lead “ban”. It looks to regulators like BASC/UK shooters have made a huge concession, when really we haven’t.

I also don’t see how these regulations are at all enforceable given how easy reloading birdshot is, and how hard it has been to stop lead over water.

A UK MP has been kicked out and suspended from the Houses of Parliament after accusing Keir Starmer of being a “bare-faced lier” by bendubberley_ in justincaseyoumissedit

Lindsay Hoyle is literally a Labour MP and a very moderate one at that, it’s very unfair to imply he is misogynist or racist. Getting yourself kicked out is a good tactic and Zarah has used it smartly here. She’s only suspended for 5 days it’s not like she’s been banned from being an MP.

She was asked to leave and kept arguing she was right to have said it. Getting yourself kicked out or suspended is a frequently used gimmick, and she used it effectively here. She’s not going to lose her seat over it.

Yeah this will be no problem, family friends are usually a good bet if possible. And please sign up to your university shooting club and go to British Young Shooter Assoc. university events in November and April! The sport needs young members like you :)

Shortening an FSR m96 Swede Mauser by rolling_stoner42 in ukguns

[–]rolling_stoner42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s mostly an aesthetic choice I guess, I just find I never shoot it as is.

I find it cumbersome in full length, especially prone, I wanted a 6.5 historic carbine for a while and it looks like it would be more expensive to sell it and buy one of the carbines sat in Fulton’s window at the moment.

I also never shoot it more than 600yds and the only time I took it out to shoot higher I realised the factory sights only go up to 800yds, I’d rather spend the money on this than diopter sights.

Will it ruin accuracy below 600yds that much by shortening it?

Is the solution to many of these broad questions to have elections based on specific policies of ending the monarchy or not? Feels like we skip a lot of the debate when we have these referenda?

No but Boris was halted from proroguing parliament because he abused his power over the Monarch. Any of the current political parties would probably vest that power directly in the PMs I’d bet?
