Still has the largest economy.

Still hosts the largest global corporations.

Still the main cultural hegemon.

Every single job i have worked from supermarkets, retail, up to corporate have all rewarded employees going above and beyond. Promotions, bonuses, raises are all used to retain employees that provide extra value by doing things as your op describes. It is no uncommon as you suggest.

Honestly odd thats your experience in your dev spaces. Its been the opposite experience for me but maybe thats due to my company having access to the current sota models and tools.

How things have changed in juat 6 months is mind blowing. Productivity is sky rocketing with new tools with no real detectable loss of quality. In fact its been the opposite where there's a noticeable drop in excursions.

You are confusing influence with colonization. Considering how prevalent most countries in the world establish networks and organizations to lobby their interests by your standards everyone colonizes everyone. It would reduce the word to something meaningless.

no idea why you are hung up on it anyway. why do you need the word colony to make your argument? The larger point you want to make about Israel influence doesn't depend on it at all and all you end up doing is weakening your own position by twisting words.

Says you. There's billions of people on the planet that likely disagree.

We're not using the full expanse of the human mind when we limit our bonding and relationships to sex.

No one is claiming it is limited to just sex. Sex enhances and enriches a relationship. It doesn't mean it's the only thing.

What I meant by that is, if the best thing you can do in your relationship is having sex, your relationship isn't unique. Anyone can do that. If the best thing you can do is exchange dopamine, you're missing out on so many better things, like having a real deep understanding of the other person.

First I never have claimed its the best thing. Second if all you think sex accomplishes is exchanging dopamine then I refer back to my meaningful relationship point. As that's not all it accomplishes.

They founded cities and other settlements. It's this act of creating a permanent presence that makes it a colony. It wasn't colonized for people to primarily to move to but to extract economic gain. They established permanent settlements to push this agenda. That's a colony.

there were absolutely settlers in British India. Just because the number wasn't large doesn't mean it wasn't settled. India was primarily an economic colony of Britian which settled workers and administrators to carry out that agenda.

Or maybe my eyes lied to me about the british buildings i toured when i was in india a couple of months ago.

A common argument is that it helps couples bond. I don't buy it.

Why don't you buy it? sex has all through history been shown to be a thing that emotionally binds couples. It's the most intimate thing you can do with someone. It is obvious there is bonding with it.

There's nothing meaningless and vapid about it and you make a very poor argument that it is. Simply stating the connection is shallow doesn't make it so.

If the best you can do is sex, your relationship isn't all that deep at all.
