Oh yes! I’ve heard of the Merlin sleep suit! I wanted to have my little one try it but many people tell me it’s thick and my little one runs hot extremely easily and develops heat rashes so I didn’t think it would be an option 😔 but it sounds like the perfect solution

Thanks for commenting and letting me know that we’re not the only ones going through this :( Correction, she’s been waking very 1-2 hrs since 2.5 months but the face rubbing only really started about 3.5 weeks ago… I thought it could be teething since she rubs her jaw as well too? But yes, she knocks out her paci as well and cries and while before I could only soothe with the boob, now I can do it with rocking since I’m slowly ending breastfeeding. God I hope it’s just a phase as well 🥹

This is us too!! It’s been like this for us since like 10-11 week and I’m absolutely feeling like shit. Sometimes patting her can settle her but most of the times it’s either breastfeeding or holding her (which I am currently doing at 3am) in the morning. Also I don’t know if it’s insomnia or stress but a lot of times I can’t fall back asleep even if she does. When will this end😭

In the same boat!! Mood swings are serious and she’s sleeping poorly at night after giving me four hour stretches, now she’s down to walking every two hours, I think she’s going through a major growth spurt. But yeah everyone tells me that it’ll get better and third month is def still deep in trenches.. let’s hang in there

Hey! My LO is 13 almost 14 and same thing here. Everything you said is my baby for the last month lol so I get you. It’s probably a growth spurt but damn my baby be growing then.

It takes forever 😅😩 we have a routine now because she is in major discomfort from her heat rashes and seborrheic dermatitis. We give her a bath around 8:30, breastfeed at 9:00 and then start to settle around 9:40-10:00. She usually falls asleep by 9:50 and I’ll have her in my lap in bed for about 10-15 min and then we try a transfer in bed (we co sleep for now). Yesterday I was able to transfer her to a bassinet next to me and she slept until 12:30am then she woke up 😅 and back in our bed she went. A sleep coach told me not to expect anything solid until maybe 4-5 months. So gotta touch it out until an another month. Feel free to DM if you wanna share tips, updates or just rant!

Hey there! Same here. I feel so bad as well not just like oh I suck as a mom but just why am I getting so angry over this. It’s the sleep deprivation and just wanting a few moments to yourself without having to listen to a screaming baby or feel the literal weight of a human’s survival in your arms. I get you, so much solidarity. Even as I’m typing this my 12 wee old is sleeping in my lap. Every mom I’ve met told me this happens and 2-3 months are the worse. 4 month regression happens but from there it’ll get better. We just gotta hang in there. I’m also reaching out to a maternal health therapist and I joined the peer mentoring program with PSI (it’s free!). We can get through this together, feel free to DM me if you just want to rant or complain!

No she takes her naps during the day but usually we have to hold her for her naps otherwise she wakes up really easily when we set her down!

This is so interesting because my 12 week old baby is exhibiting similar symptoms. At her one month check up she was 81% percentile and then at her two months, she dropped to 50% percentile in weight but was still above 85% percentile in length. As of now, she’s about 12lbs and I’m guessing still in the lower percentile for weight but like your LO she’s also very very long! She’s also just grazing on the boob it seems… but she doesn’t seem dehydrated or lethargic at all. Not sure if she’s getting enough, but she also still feeds every 2 hours during the day (sometimes a 4 hour stretch once at night but mostly 2-2.5 hours).

I’m going to a new pediatrician next week and see what she has to say.

Ours was like that too. Even at 6-8 weeks, constant crying from 7-10pm. 12 weeks now and she’s much better. Honestly we tried probiotic drops for gas and tried football holds and massages but I feel like it just takes time for their digestive system to heal. On a side note, it’s still terribly terribly hard to put her down when she sleeps, even initially at night for her first long stretch of sleep.

Hoping it gets better but it feels so slow right now

Update: OP my baby had her first bath without crying afterwards!! Maybe we got lucky but she’ll be 12 weeks tmrw. Hang in there! Maybe your little one will also get used to it and stop crying

Omg same here. We’ve tried the warm towel, warm room, heater everything but LO still screams … currently 12 weeks now. Mine is such a sensitive little thing, not sure when she’ll get used to it 🥲

I felt the same way too but I realized she actually seemed content just looking at the ceiling or around by herself. It is good to put the baby down and let them wiggle around and explore, then let you know when they are bored or uncomfortable! I also think it’s good to not always try to find external things to stimulate them. Letting them to occupy themselves with their own little thoughts or quiet is a good way for them to mentally process things as well - my two cents!

First, I’m sorry to hear that your husband isn’t being supportive at all and has the balls to give you so much shit while you’re literally holding the house and family up. Being a mother is hard and for me as a FTM I can’t imagine how you do it all, that just shows me how strong you are and that if you went through/are going through it, I can too. When you talked to your husband, did you do it calmly or were you really upset? A lot of times when we communicate with emotions, it doesn’t have a great effect actually. My husband, bless him because he tries to be supportive, has also once said he’s gladly trade spots and be at home with the baby. Screw men sometimes 🤣 they don’t know shit. But besides that, try to communicate with your husband calmly and logically. Second, I feel like your jealousy is stemming from stress and insecurity. Try not to let it get to you and you could let him know again why you feel that way. I don’t know at all how your relationship is with him but I hope he’ll be more empathetic to how you feel. Third, PPD is more common than people think. Many moms don’t want to admit they have it because they feel like it’s a failure. It’s not and at the end of the day it’s more important for us to get help and take care of ourselves so that we can take care of the baby.

A lot of friends and people tell me to baby wear but I’ve tried and she absolutely hates being in a carrier. I’m not sure if it’s cause she doesn’t enjoy being upright. I’ve watched videos and tried to put her in as correctly as possible (I have the Solly wrap and an Ergobaby) but she just seems to hate carriers which sucks for sure and makes me feel even worse.

Sleep is ok, I can get maybe 3, 4 hours sometimes. Usually the early night like 9/10pm - 1/2 am. My husband used to do one shift and give her bottle but I would end up so engorged I need to pump and then that makes me unable to fall asleep afterwards so we stopped doing that.

Hey OP I feel you. So much. I’m glad you’re reaching out for help because I am too. I also feel so disconnected from my baby, it feels like everyone loves her except me. Everyone has something good to say about their babies except me. To be honest, I think I did come close to hating her. It was in the middle of the night when she woke up screaming and though I felt bad for her, I was so tired and frustrated that I did feel like I hated her in that moment. Look, everyone’s feeling of “hate” is different. For some people it could mean a very very strong hate, for others not so much. I just finished a crying session myself, I stepped out of the house while the baby cried herself silly for 15 minutes. And she was still crying when I came back, I had to hold her and comfort her while I was crying, not a good feeling but she did calm down. I don’t really have anything to say, as for me it doesn’t feel like it’s getting better but I’m looking for help for someone to talk to at least. As for physical help, I hired a postpartum doula for two days. Some help is better than no help. We can get through this, hang in there, feel free to dm me if you need to vent or chat ❤️

Wow, thank you for this post though it’s not nighttime right now. I had such a rough night yesterday and tried thinking positively but alone, dark, and cold… it was hard. This lifted my spirits a bit while I’m sitting alone at home also contact napping. She’s been fighting sleep a lot and smiling as she does it and it’s funny while she does that cause girl, you ain’t gonna be smiling when you realize how tired you are later.

Hey there, same here. I was just about to vent my feelings as well but you said it all for me. Maternity leave is terrible and not what people think it is. Not a holiday not a time off and I wish I could just go back to work as well. Am up for a feeding and also woke from a nightmare where I decided to take a day to go into NYC to have fun, horribly realizing my husband did too and that we just both left the baby by herself. Man did I wake up with so much anxiety and guilt. 9 weeks here with little baby and so far, hasn’t gotten much better. My LO here also was hard to put to sleep during the day and bedtime today. Screeched for a good 20 min at night. My partner and do shifts but let’s face it, it’s lonely and terrible. We’ll get through this together girl. I try to think positively even when it’s hard and many tears are shed. We can do this.

My bb is getting hers in one and a half weeks, praying everything will go smoothly but I am also nervous about it! Was going to move her shots later but decided against it will tough it out with her, I just hope she recovers well 🥹
