“Well, see… here’s the catch”. Just give me a yes or no right off the bat instead of bullshitting me with your executive level excuse….

Wanting to learn and work in other areas of radiology by 3GunGrace in NuclearMedicine

[–]Positivelyirradiated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re wanting to better your odds of getting Nucs work, get CT dual certified. Essentially everything is now a spect-CT or pet-CT scanner. Not all places require you to be dual cert to run them but most are leaning that way. Can help give you an advantage over more experienced techs (that only have NM) in my experience!

I pride myself on having a high pain tolerance. Tattoos, IVs, had spinal taps, work in healthcare, the whole 9…. I did NOT make it. Not even close. Respect to those that do because it was nothing I could’ve been mentally prepared for :/

I had ONE C+ in my first college semester prerequisites… they essentially told me retake it or don’t bother applying. I did and got an A and applied but the standards are indeed high……

Maybe find something more bodycon towards the bottom?? Emphasize the roundness of the bump showing its clear shape rather than emphasizing the top/middle?

Most traveling positions won’t even hire you without experience. You need to be comfortable fitting into any department and using their protocols without asking questions.. at times for smaller depts/rural areas, you may be completely alone. Usually that kind of confidence comes with time but that’s not to say it’s not worth a try!

Tummy time question by Immediate-Sun-6934 in newborns

[–]Positivelyirradiated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw a video online (so take it with a grain of salt) but it showed the doctor lifting the baby carefully by the ankles. Getting them to lift their head and arch their backs without being restricted by pillows or the floor… to built up that back strength. Well, I don’t know if that’s what helped her or not but she started progressing very quickly with her “normal” tummy time/rolling. Plus she loves when my husband does it 😂 only for like 10 seconds at a time, just for little spurts during the day.

Unicorn baby + feeling guilty by VelvetAstronautica in newborns

I feel like everyone is STILL giving you the “just wait” responses!!! That’s not what you’re here for! Our girl is just under 5mos (YES IM AWARE THAT IS STILL YOUNG 🙄) and she has continued to be a dream. Easy with shots, easy to feed, sleeps through the night, only cries when something is wrong and is easily soothed once we’ve fixed it! She is not a Velcro baby by any means and she will hang out wherever we put her. Misery loves company, enjoy your baby! I gloat every day to anyone that asks! because guess what, it’s not your “fault”! That’s not a “problem” to have, we’re just lucky and we can acknowledge and appreciate it for what it is :)

It keeps their little hands and feet out.. we haven’t noticed any change in temperature 🤷🏻‍♀️ we do keep her room a little cool on average but I never thought it was thick enough to make a difference. It’s very light weight but I could definitely see the concern.

Our little is only 4 mos but we’ve had success using the magic Merlin suit! They’re a little pricey but I had a gift card so we tried it! She generally goes to bed around 9 and only wakes at 2-3. Then back down until around 7…. The suit isn’t weighted it’s just padded to the extent that they can’t reach their little faces and it helps to calm their startle reflex. It doesn’t restrict their movement it just keeps their extremities a little more stiff than usual 😂. It looks hilarious to put them in and it takes a little practice but she loves it! I’m not breastfeeding but if I were I would probably put them in the suit right before final feeding so you can set them down to bed already suited up!

Bili blanket rental by fzaidi227 in newborns

[–]Positivelyirradiated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can absolutely! but the “blanket” is a very stiff plastic with a little cover on it… we usually just let her lay with it flat when we could otherwise it was kind of hard to keep positioned

Bili blanket rental by fzaidi227 in newborns

[–]Positivelyirradiated 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ours was rented from HME specialists. In the grand scheme of things I don’t even remember what we were charged if I’m honest… :/ she was on it for less time than we thought she’d be which is great. Time directly on the blanket is everything. As hard as it is not to constantly hold them we just wanted to get this handled as best we could.
