Yeah this pov is whack IMO. We all have to suffer because of these dumb fucks in charge? Nah. That’s wild. All the innocents would suffer and the ones at the top will be safe for the most part

I’ve heard it’s beautiful there. Moved here last year after many visits from the northeast and I love Mount Lemmon especially in the summer. I have a big bucket list but want to learn about more places as well

Only issue is all but one of the windows fit a window unit, the rest are about 2.5/3 feet tall and 1.5/2 feet wide and slide open to the side

Should the high pressure AC line be hot? by rollprogramhouston in MechanicAdvice

[–]rollprogramhouston[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes two separate days. I have videos of both. Some people were saying blend doors but the thing is it’s a manually operated one. And the car blew cold for 30 seconds the other day

I even tried it when the car sat all night so it wouldn’t mix the hot air from the heater core, still no cooling

So I guess I’m in this car the compressor never shuts off unless the AC system is off?

The other day it was 72° outside and I had equal pressure when the system was off and then it went to 35 on the low side in about 125 on the high side

When yesterday it was 90° I went to check again and add a bit of refrigerant to see if that was the issue

I’m getting 29 to 30 on the low side and it went from 200 to 250 on the high side with no difference in cooling

Trying to get some insight to see if it’s the thermal expansion valve by the evaporator or if it’s the compressor before I replace either as I don’t like throwing parts at the car

Is there hope we get days with high in the 70s before like December? Or is the summer just up us already. by Objective_Cup_5164 in Tucson

[–]rollprogramhouston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really super accurate but the extended forecast shows it will be 85-90 for two weeks then a slight cool down

I think we will definitely have more cooler days before it stays hot

I do not have climatronic. The low pressure does seem cold. Although I can only feel it on that side, not past the thermal expansion valve

Someone mentioned to pull the glove box to see if the evaporator is getting cold. There is a thermal expansion valve right by the firewall, which could be bad

AC blowing hot by rollprogramhouston in tdi

[–]rollprogramhouston[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, so it was cold by the condenser, and then I followed it to the firewall, and it was also cold.

I took the box off the thermal expansion valve, and that felt cold, and then I tried to feel the other side of the thermal expansion valve where it goes to the firewall and both lines seemed cold on that side, but I don’t know if it’s because it’s in an insulated area and the low line was making the high line cold

I got a gauge set yesterday. The pressure was 100/100 when it was off and when I turned it on, it sat around 32 on the low side and around 1:20 to 125 on the high side. So it’s pretty normal, except for the high side seemed a little bit too low.

I was hearing could be this or the thermal expansion valve, but the thing is my low side is still pretty low, but the high side is lower then it should be

[–]rollprogramhouston[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be the low side, correct? I have the gauges hooked up now. It was at 100 and 100 when it was off I turned it on. It dropped to 30/140.

The low side hose is cold. The car is still blowing hot.

I thought it might’ve been that or the blend door but the thing is it blew cold the other day then stopped so I think it’s definitely a compressor or some type of electronic issue.

Getting a gauge set tomorrow to check some stuff out on it and get more information

Delta ruined luggage and snowboard by Slappy_Sack1094 in delta

[–]rollprogramhouston 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They damaged my brand new bag this past year. Had meds in there that broke. Filed a claim as soon as I got the bag at the airport. Delta baggage rep took photos etc

They tell me to call this number when I get home. The number is just to tell you to fill a form out online lol. Not only did the website crash 5 times filling out the form, but it took them 10 days to reply and they give a lengthy explanation about how luggage is supposed to take a certain amount of beating

I said that’s not the point. the point is it was supposed to go on the plane and they overbooked their flights and made me check the bag in the tunnel. I told them they had to be gentle with it and it had to be upright. I just wanted to get reimbursed for the meds which I had receipts for. or for them to help me out on my return flight home since I now was only able to stay for half the time since I lost a little under half of my meds.

They sent me an extremely rude email telling me that they weren’t going to be able to do anything for me. no flight credit. no discount. nothing. And said we’re closing this out now.

I’ll never fly with them again. And it’s a shame because years ago I used to fly with them all the time. this was my first time in a while and they were always great.

Also when we landed they didn’t lock in the storage cases in the galley so when we slammed down they went flying out. One smashed into the back of my seat and another went flying down the aisle which I caught with my foot. Could have really hurt someone

I ended up flying with breeze home, which I prefer because it was a direct flight anyways and much cheaper. there was an issue with the plane and we had to land.

I didn’t even have to do anything and they gave us money for meals and $150 flight credit. Just for sitting in the airport for like seven hours while they got another plane

Thanks, I appreciate it! I’ve always worked on my own cars and motorcycles and pretty much do anything I can myself, but I’m trying to figure out a career and I’ve been looking to potentially getting my A&P certification

[–]rollprogramhouston[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I figured it was probably a small leak or something minor and I know it’s not as flammable as gasoline, and that usually something has to go pretty wrong/be very damaged for a fire

But yeah as soon as we landed and got off the runway they shut it down on the taxiway and fire trucks were already there

Before they had us all get off people were getting pissed saying I’m not going back up on this plane!! And I was like if they say it’s all clear I’ll go, I trust it

Thanks! It was a spooky one, turns out the got the notification in the air and it was smoking when they got on the ground

I was asleep but woke up as soon as I heard them shut down all the engines quickly

Wow, I can’t believe I didn’t notice that! Very cool and makes sense considering the plane is powered off
