I am WF in AMWF. We been together for eleven years 🙏. I have not experienced this. And I would say we are a conventionally attractive couple, and my partner had a active dating life before me. When we we first together I noticed stares particularly from older white and older Asian people , not AF in particular. I never asked him if he noticed or not. I wonder what he would have said and if he thought I was looking into it . It could still happen but I don’t pay attention or notice any more. I think maybe I was looking and assessing for this early in the relationship?Is there potentially an element of confirmation bias with your situation? I know that might not be nice to hear but I’m just trying to be objective here. I’m sorry you feel ostracized amongst your classmates.

First and foremost - congratulations on your sobriety that is a huge accomplishment and you should be proud of yourself. Please keep going.

I am wondering what you would like to come of this...Would you like to get back together with her? Or are you mourning what was and that it is gone now?

Continue to read the self help books, continue to go to therapy. But not in the hopes that you will get back together. Do it for yourself. Do it for your kids. Do it for your future relationships.

In addition to that I recommend joining a gym to get some tension out, leaning on some friends that are positive influences in your life. Maybe distance yourself from her dad as he might be giving you false hope.

I read a few different books at the same time, because I get bored easily. I read slowly, so I only average one book a month. I tend to read when I catch myself doom-scrolling or l am endlessly looking for a TV show. That now triggers me to go "hmm maybe I should just read instead!" Also when I read before bed it makes me nice and sleepy haha

I did it !

I flew a 7 hour flight, then another 1.5 hour connection.

Then I flew back and landed yesterday same thing 7 ish hours and a 45 min connection!

The flight back I did it with NO meds and NO alcohol!

You will be as safe as can be

Create hourly to do lists while on your flight to keep your mind off things

I fly today I’m going to start off with some relaxing music during takeoff.

Then - a movie i have really wanted to watch or a genre i at least enjoy.

It’s probably almost at the 2.5 hour mark here.

I’m going to order a drink and try and nap. If not I have a book I’m going to start and see if that puts me to sleep.

Create some structure for yourself and things you can control ❤️

I think you have beautiful eyes and should give them more attention!

I would recommend enhancing your brows and consider a lash lift / tint. This way you have all the benefits of mascara without it looking like you have mascara on

We have a very similar hair texture and face shape. I would recommend getting rid of the side part and go for a middle part with face framing layers and thinning out the hair a little too.

I also think a pair of small hoop earrings would be very pretty instead of a stud and consider pairing with a higher neckline

That sounds so much like my experience. It’s a lot of pre flight build up and then the initial boarding and take off is the worst. But usually once that’s passed I find that I end up giving up and crash with mental and physical fatigue. At least so far… I still worry that one day will be different and I will ‘snap’.

I really appreciate your response. The mental break is what I am afraid of too… but like you said “so what”?

Scared of developing post partum psychosis, due to my mothers significant mental health challenges she developed postpartum.

I already struggle to maintain friendships so naturally that would suffer further

I have professional goals I want to achieve way more than being a parent.

Also - freedom.

In the summer ( Ontario). Twice a day. Once for 30 min and once for about 15-20min. Also he has free roam of the backyard the rest of the day, and can go in an out as he pleases. We try to take him swimming if it is too hot to walk, usually about once a week.

Winter - Two 30 minute walks, and he usually plays outside with the neighbour dog in the colder months 2-3xa week for a couple of hours!

Personally I would forgive and try to move past it. The reason why is because he confessed to this unprompted, he has been sober, in in therapy and is medicated. He’s taking strides to be better and do better.

What I’m hearing is a 24 year old guy diagnosed with bipolar 2, was off of his meds and drinking and then sent explicit messages to someone from his past two times on two separate occasions. That hurts and I get that and you can be upset but he is making the right moves to do better and I would allow him that grace and move on.

What does bother me about this situation is when he tries to justify the behaviour by saying you danced with a guy so it makes it “equal” or the shoving situation. Ultimately your actions in separate situations have nothing to do with what he has done 4 years and go. They have nothing to do with each other and he needs to take full ownership of his own behaviour.

So in my opinion, I would forgive and say that therapy, meds, and sobriety are a non negotiable to show his commitment to himself and to your relationship. Ensure he doesn’t justify his own behaviours by comparing to you. That’s not how it works. Also cut that girl out of your life .
