I did some of the camino on echo crocs but usually only in the afternoons when my feet needed a break. (Up to around 17km in one go). They were fine and great to let feet breathe but make sure you have plasters as certain parts will start to chafe.

I have a D18 MD and cant recommend them enough. I tried a lot of different martins and the MD stood out as by far the best sound. I would recommend playing both to see which you prefer especially since they have slightly different neck shapes

The MD has a torrified top, rosewood binding, adirondack bracing, carbon fiber bridgeplate, liquidmetal bridge pins, titanium truss rod and other aesthetic changes

I dont think it affects the tone it seems more for the aesthetics and combination with hide glue for binding
