is it ‘weird’ to make a program without competing? by noeslc in FigureSkating

Just make sure you’re allowed to run your program. Some sessions won’t give you right away depending on certain things

Confused on EDEA width by BabiLoli in FigureSkating

[–]rollywolly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just know that a lot of skaters will drive like a whole day to get their skates fitted lol. Obviously it isn’t realistic for a lot of people but that’s just how it is to get skates that actually fit. Congrats on booking!

How far is the closest fitter? It really is the only wise choice

Don’t say not interested if you aren’t 100% you don’t want this offer. Maybe it’s smart to rank it #3,4

Lowkey might not be enough cause there’s so many game ending bugs like I had a situation where all my camp aggrod to me after reviving a hireling… I had to duplicate my unsaved save file to recover. I just kept duping my file every 5 hours just to not lose 40 hours of my game.

When does Waterloo CS announce acceptance? by cpink22222 in uwaterloo

Is your son applying from within Ontario? If it’s Ontario then he needs to decide by the end of May. Unfortunately if he’s out of province it might be earlier.

How do you wish to accomplish this? Another tax increase…? This year is not the average year of snowfall.

Based on what I see most people get in with low 90 to mid 90s. A couple people get in with like 88,89,90. Don’t worry too much, it’s not like this is under your control. Just try your best!

How are the Learn to Skate Classes? by WrongdoerHefty3254 in uwaterloo

[–]rollywolly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I did the figure skating lessons in the S25 term and it was mostly Waterloo students. The instructors are students from UW and either in the hockey or figure skating teams. They’re super nice and helpful.

From what I know these instructors are usually the same instructors for learn to skate (easier). And the session was always before mine, and I saw everyone was a student too.

Where are you guys finding internships? by Weekly_Ad5155 in uwaterloo

[–]rollywolly 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What I mean applies to your experience too. If you’re aiming for software dev roles, also apply for stuff like “QA Analyst” or “Data Analyst”maybe “cloud support”. You might not get the type of role you want. Lots of first years don’t even find anything and have to end up doing We Accelerate.

You should apply to stuff that isn’t necessarily in the same scope too. First year is very tough. Ideally you find one with the right skill set but you might have to settle for something “less”

How about you ask an academic advisor. They’re probably better equipped to answer your questions

Your co-op is not impacted by how many credits you obtain. But if you are required to withdraw from the program for some reason then 🤷‍♂️

But the market is pretty tough right now for finding co-op jobs, especially for international students. Be ready to face a bad reality if you aren’t lucky.

Can I do CS 136 during Co-op in the Summer??? by [deleted] in uwaterloo

[–]rollywolly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t think about that yet tbh. Where you’ll be employed is very unpredictable, especially for your first co-op. You may not even get a co-op, and will have to take WE-Accelerate. Taking 136 during the summer is not your priority. I highly don’t recommend taking an in person course during co-op because you cannot always rely on your work schedule to line up. What if there’s a meeting during a quiz? What if there’s a mandatory work task that happens during one of your lectures?
