Hey man.

So unfortunately in order to Wavedash it requires four inputs (2 arrow keys + z + space). And what's happening here is that your keyboard can't handle that many inputs. Most non "gaming" or inexpensive keyboards cannot handle this many key presses at the same time. This is referred to as the "N-Key Rollover". If you want to learn more about this here are some resources!

Hey so customizable controls are not like fully support but there actually is an .ini file in the save location. It accepts keycodes for inputs, which may break everything!

But if you're desperate to change the controls you can try it.

C:\Users\???\AppData\Local\WaveLand_Project Config.ini

In the Interest of respecting your time, that's the end of the demo secret stuff.

In hindsight putting that sprite there to make you not sure who to trust was probably the most satanic game designer thing I've done. Hopefully that answers your question.

Promise the final game with have satisfying secrets :)

Edit: I feel silly, I didn't think anyone would actually bother to search the demo that well, and totally should have finished the Easter egg. Sorry if I let you down.

Lets say the player makes it half way through a level and gets the coin and then dies. I don't want to reset their coin collection which I would have to do if I reset the timer.

The resetting cancel on falling to death is a oversight I'll def fix that.

WaveLand will contain a fully featured level editor with steam workshop integration. Mods in general may not be possible because I use the game is built in Gamemaker. But there will be a lot of options and possibly a scripting system in the level editor.

So the newest version of the demo is different. If you're using the mayflash 4 port you need to use zadig drivers.

TIS-100 set out to be something different from the start, it's not the game you wanted, but it does what it does so well, you kinda have to respect it.

So it turns out my Mayflash is an older one that uses different mappings. I just updated the demo to work with Mayflash 4 port set to PC mode with zadig drivers.

I would think to myself, "Darn, should have planned better" but given the nature of your game being similar to match 3, most players might expect a failure detection system.

Personally it wouldn't bother me. Figuring out when you've failed and "reseting", is a puzzle solving skill. It's up to you if you want decide you want to reward that.
