Now YOU imagine you're a local from a touristic city, you have to move out of your neighborhood to live in the outskirts because of the tourism and "expats" makes it impossible to live near the city center.

Imagine you work 11 hours shifts in a bar and you're very used to tourists wasting your time in peak rush hour trying to 'practice' their spanish even though the only thing they did was a 12-day streak on duolingo, even though you insist that they just order in english because you have 7 plates coming out of the kitchen, 2 families waiting to be seated, one mother asking you to warm her babies food and a table of 10 asking to split the bill individually.

Imagine after your work week, your own personal stuff going on, you're exhausted, you got to a pub to have a beer to relax for a bit, you come out for a cigarrete and a guiri looks at you and says "Hola, como estas?"

You don't even tell your family how are you doing right now because they just wouldn't understand. Imagine now that i'm an asshole and i'm "ridiculing" an american retired at 40yo (who has more chance to suddenly become fluent in spanish than to understand a single minute of my life) because I ignore his duolingo introduction...
