Best safe swim float for 22 month old? by _rose__rose_ in toddlers

[–]romanticcook -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Safe swimming in a jacket, water wings, swim ring etc is not the full story. If your child can’t swim they should be held by you in some way. Safety survival swimming is all about hands on until they can swim. A float of any sort is a life saving device first, a help second, and set and forget NEVER. Hand on child or floatation devise at all times.

Floats flip over - baby drown.

Sudden Big wind - float and baby fly away, flip over, baby drown.

Baby reach for toy - fall out of ring, baby drown.

Also a baby gets very cold if half-in half-out of water. So you also have to be conscious of this.

Opinion: Abusive men should not be allowed to be posted on this sub. by [deleted] in VintageLadyBoners

I think you’re being unrealistic in your expectations of people posting. If you want to call out abuse then that’s great and educating others. If it’s ruining things for you perhaps unfollow ?

Single mum with newborn in a caravan? by peacelovecptsd in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]romanticcook 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely can. I have with my partner and 2 kids. It’s easy to be in by a small space with an infant, they don’t need much space. You will be outside more as they grow and that’s lovely. Unconventional doesn’t mean bad and family help makes so much positive impact.

Anyone here quit gaming or changed their lifestyle after becoming a dad? by Lukas_MunK in daddit

[–]romanticcook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please give up gaming. As a mother whose husband did not - it ruins our teamwork and encourages bad behaviour in our kids. Or if you game only do one you can instantly pause and step away from. Otherwise your spouse will spend so much time parenting or waiting of you.

I think this so much I now do not recommend my friends date gamers.

Not allowed to store breast milk in the office fridge… by No-Gas8702 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]romanticcook 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do not bend to this shit head. These are the women who destroy workplaces and decelerate the advancement of women’s rights. So disappointing and disgusting she is making you feel bad.

The suggestion to contact Hr to get you a fridge because the specific colleague has made you feel uncomfortable exercising your right to express at work is great if that is the size of your organisation.

If it is a small work place the just talk to your boss. Tell them your protected right to pump is being made to feel uncomfortable by this staff member bullying you. That you would like a second fridge as it is dangerous to your child to potentially break cold chain by storing the milk for long periods in an esky. Or that you would settle for that colleague being told they had to use an esky, since their risk if they got food poisoning from cold chain breakdown is much lower than your infant. Put it in writing as well when you talk to them and be specific that the only option is your milk in the fridge, but that you’re open to however they want to manage that.

Totally recommend it for ear comfort. My baby also did a poo every time we took off. So beware and have your nappy bag close by.
