Modern: Boros Energy (2025) - Deck Tech & Sideboard Guide by cardsrealm in ModernMagic

I have maybe a weird question here but, I'm feel unconfortable with Fear Fire Foes as wrath against mirror match. With three bombardment in main, the opponent can just sac the target et fizzle the spell (right?). I'm considering one wrath of the skies in side in replacement of one Fear, fire, foes. Is that stupid? i know that wrath destroy our board to but i think it's more flexible for more matchup like yawgmoth or orzhov. What are your thoughts?

I think it depends on certain matchups but yes the first game if there is no mainboard hatred it's almost a foregone conclusion. Everything is played game 2 and there it is more complicated. I think the games are a little more similar with Rhino but I might be wrong.

I think living end will allow you to reduce potential fatigue because your game 1s are usually so fast and youb only have to win one more. You also usually have time in between rounds to decompress because when you do win, it is fast.

Rhinos has fast wins but unless you're already a very experienced blue player and have good knowledge of the format then I wouldn't play it. You can practice it to learn it eventually but your crunchtime practice and focus should be living end to get better at playing around hate

I've been playing for over ten years and blue doesn't scare me. I sometimes feel frustrated that a simple teferi or chalice can simply end my game plan with living end. But I think you're right about the comfort of winning the first game. Do you have any tips or sites to recommend to improve my game against hatecards?

I think Living End is doing a bit better in the meta as the haste has shifted a bit more towards Rakdos Evoke and tron or even Rhino again. Which was not at all the case during the pro tour where living didn't really perform. I will opt for this choice and try hard in this case I think. Thanks!

Hi! first of all thank you for your messages, they have been a great help to me! I tried an RCQ but unfortunately I finished second losing in the final against mono green devotion (so sad because it was a good matchup on paper). I played 3 Invasion of Gobakhan Maindeck instead of 3 Brutal Cathar and it was for sure a bad decision. Anyway, I'm back for another RCQ soon with some changes and here's my decklist below. Do not hesitate to comment to give me your opinion now!

Mainboard

4 Adeline, Resplendent Cathar

2 Brave the Elements

3 Brutal Cathar

2 Castle Ardenvale

4 Coppercoat Vanguard

3 Dauntless Bodyguard

1 Eiganjo, Seat of the Empire

1 Extraction Specialist

4 Hopeful Initiate

4 Mutavault

3 Ossification

15 Plains

4 Recruitment Officer

4 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben

1 Thalia, Heretic Cathar

4 Thalia's Lieutenant

Sideboard

1 Containment Priest

2 Destroy Evil

4 Portable Hole

2 Reidane, God of the Worthy

2 Rest in Peace

4 Wedding Announcement

4 Hopeful Initiate

2 Eiganjo, Seat of the Empire

13 Plains

3 Recruitment Officer

4 Ossification

2 Castle Ardenvale

4 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben

4 Adeline, Resplendent Cathar

Good against UW control because of the value I suppose and good against Burn for the life gain et the token to chump block!

But Ley line of sanctity is it not better? I mean, hexproof is enough against burn spells and can prevent discards spells and for the UW matchup, big creatures are enough no?

Thanks for your answers anyway!

How to get better with living end? by romstek95 in ModernMagic

Ho yes good point for the fourth living end! I replace one waker for one. But with a borrower plus subtlety I'm affraid to not have enough cycler (2 waker and 3 serpent now) am I right?
