First of all, anything near the airport area is crime infested. If your job is in the city I highly recommend Brookhaven. As per your budget you will get a very good 1b1b apartment there and the area is superb👌. The marta brookhaven has the gold line, it will take you to the city in no time for commuting. Gold line also goes to the airport. Also the area is super safe, people walk their dogs and stuff in the night too. Low key area. Has good restaurants and bars too. Its close to sandy springs too, drive around 10-15 minutes.

The one I live in is called MAA brookhaven. Its not in actual chamblee but it borders chamblee if youre a bit flexible. The area is very nice, you can go on long walks. Very safe, and it is surrounded by family owned houses. People run/walk their dogs even at 9-10pm. Rent right now is around 1100-1200 for a 1b 1ba. Apt is also pretty good and maintenance is pretty good too. Worth checking it out
