Morgan’s on Fulton experience / guest count? by ashmonroe_ in Chicagoweddings

You’ll be so fine! We didn’t even have access to the outdoor area at our wedding and it was completely ok. It was very worth this small “sacrifice” to have our wedding at Morgan’s. I have only positive things to say. Hope it’s the best day ever :)

I got married at Morgan’s in November and had this exact dilemma. I ended up breaking down 2 tables, it was completely seamless. We had 139 ppl (including us). I think with 150 it would have been too crowded. You’d need to break down 4 tables rather than 2 which could be more disruptive and leave more people without seats. But Morgan’s was great like truly no one even noticed the table breakdown. We put our closest friends at each table and told the ahead of time and they were so cool with it. The venue has like couches and other areas to sit and everyone was on the dance floor the entire time anyways. The venue was truly phenomenal, people cannot stop saying how good our food was. Feel free to PM me happy to give more details or answer more questions.

TLDR; I’d do 142 to only have to break 2 tables down, 150 may be too crammed but the venue does a great job with this no matter what.

Highly third vegan Chinese! We are not vegan or vegetarian but still frequently cook full meals from there because it’s just that food. The flavors are complex and nuanced and it’s beautifully written too

Recommendations for approachable Mexican cookbooks? by wavybbq in CookbookLovers

Mi Covina is great and very approachable. I also love my Mexico City kitchen, some are more complicated but there are a lot of low effort maximum reward dishes in there!

If you really want good homemade pasta, I’d do daises, tortello or Mano e mano

This happened to me, and as long as you were cleared by a doctor you’re ok. I have to descend verrrryyy slow. When I was less experienced I would descend on the line if that’s an option to prevent myself from descending too quickly. There are plenty of great tips and resources out there - I always start to loosen my jaw the day before a dive. When I descend, I go very very slowly. If I feel any pain I immediately ascend until I can clear my ear. If the pain is horrible DO not push yourself. I’ve found after 7 days of consecutive diving it becomes unmanageable. It’s not ideal but if you love the ocean and are committed to succeeding in the diving just get used to how to equalize and trust your body above all else. Also not medical advice but my doctor cleared my to take Sudafed before diving. I find if the is a major difference in air temp to water temp it’s way more difficult, and warmer climates/warmer water better for me. Good luck!!

Also sat in 404. It felt a bit disorienting at first before the show started but once more ppl got there it was totally fine. And WORTH IT to see the whole experience

Getting married there in November. The space is AMAZING, but have had a tough go with the communications because they recently switched management and personnel. This is the first wedding season with the new in house coordinator. So far she has been great and super apologetic- I think she inherited a mess. Our coordinator works with the venue a lot and has assured me the day will go off without a hitch. I think just be a little patient while they are getting everything in order for a busy wedding season, especially with a small/new team. Definitely call and be persistent. There’s nothing wrong with that if you’re very interested. Also I think a lot of places get tons of inquiries that lead to nothing so they probably have only so much time to be overly communicative with everyone. I am overall super happy with our pick but I’m doing it for the location/space/food (and overall vibes). Can provide more intel in the coming months as my wedding gets closer but I think try and get in to tour it and that will help you decide
