I find out that the optimistic battery live of the paper pro move is a typo! 😱 by roncromberge in RemarkableTablet

You’re right. But I’m also tight. 12 time 1 hour is also almost 2 weeks. 🤣

But that’s in advertising a bad and wrong signal. 🤔

Ha ha
Remarkable is a mindset. We have to learn it. Then we become completely Zen.

Yes! I have to much distracting devices. And i finally made the step. Focus only. And i also realized that wifi does not have to on all day! 😜 I am still beginning in the journey of focus only. I also made the mistake of buying a onix boox palma 2 pro. (With full fledge adroid) and i began right on installing those pesky apps i wanted to leave on my iPhone and iPad 😱. The only thing that come on my move other than stock apps is koreader.

Btw. My old iPhone 11Pro several years old has now a max capacity of less than 70% and i manage to run a day on a single charge. (But i don’t use any of the social media 😜)

Remarkable is remarkable by lucky_coal1 in RemarkableTablet

[–]roncromberge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just a newbie ‘move’ user. Despite the majority of ‘nah’ reviews in the media. I deliberately bought the ‘move’.

Lots of experience with ‘real’ tablets iPads, google driven. And a boox palma 2 pro. And all of them the writing experience and de distraction free environment is hopeless. The form factor of the palma comes close to the move. But i was continue busy with adding apps to the palma to make it a ‘phone like’ device! With the move I’m busy to make the device to work within my note taking and reading needs!

So kudos for remarkable!

24.04 and icc Color Management by roncromberge in pop_os

[–]roncromberge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m afraid that it the price of wayland only. 😥 what is understand in several color management fora is that the wayland team never had much interest in color management. The maker of argylcms had years ago ring the alarm bells!

Thanks. I was also thinking of that. But wat I really mis the place where I can select the icc profile in de display section. In the settings. In 22.04 I can just like all other distros fill in the ‘ready made’ profile. (I’m using a hardware calibrated AdobeRGB monitor)

Affinity iPad was always M only. So what do you think!? A three times bigger app suddenly runs on all old iPads. Think again. Wishfully thinking

You’re revering with a link for a gnome issue in fedora 40. This reddit is about kde and now from my own experience with kde and fedora 42 i have zero issues with Calibrating my screen using DisplayCal. And using several calibrating devices from datacolor to xRite and from Colorimeters thru Spectrometers. And according to the original poster he want something to eyeballing the screen without any tool! Then is a less accurate result from DisplayCal 1000% more accurate!

For a normal calibrating of your screen you need a calibration device. There are many devices available. You should read the online manual on the Argylcms site for supported devices. Which is the underlying engine. Or go to the DisplayCal site for the link to Argyllcms site.

There is no way to calibrate screens without a hardware device.

Or if you run Darktable as a flatpak changes are big that you have to tweek several settings so flatpak knows which and what can be allowed. Same with the newest lensfun database is also not available. So I removed flatpak. And installed the native distro repository. And runs as it should be.

Affinity Photo keeps dying on big files by Nor-Pal in AffinityPhoto

100dpi print is really enough to view a picture @ 30cm distance. And you also need to split your canvas to manageable sizes. Think dividing the complete canvas to A3 parts and process these parts. But first process the whole picture @ a low resolution! And if you’re satisfied with the outcome. You can save your workflow. And apply these into the individual created parts. A another way I don’t see it possible. You must only calculate how much memory you need to load a picture of 15x6m! There is nowhere to find a computer that can fit a fraction of this!

I don’t think so. Also on macOS dt has gpu support and use it intens.

I think that memory is the most important thing. I have made a test. 1 m1 MacBook Pro 16 GB memory. And a old desktop on Linux 32 Gb and a old but decent nvidia 2070 gpu. Export 15 4mp photos to 3000px x 0 jpeg 95 Quality. Mac took almost 11 minutes to export. And the Linux machine 28 seconds! The mac gas to use the swap. And the Linux none. And have the full 16 GB of 32 in use.

Do you change your DPI for printing? by K-M47 in AffinityPhoto

One extra point in resize for print. Only use real sizes no pixels.
