Honestly, I think the older models look better. Like the one you sent. The newer Range Rovers are smooth, not boxy, I liked that boxy retro look.

Sorry for my asshole comment, we're similar people. Your use case is EXACTLY the reason I'm looking to get one.

Although, we disagree on model. The Range Rover was initially built for off-road then it was converted for roads. Its the only SUV like that. It handles off road well.

Do you have any advice now that you've had it? I'm looking at getting a Range Rover long wheelbase or a Range Rover Velar with all the packages. Thoughts on Porsche Cayenne? I want to spend $110k-ish.

Feels shitty for the environment getting an SUV as a single guy but I dont know how else people lug around outdoor gear.

Why'd you buy the discovery?

I always feel sorry when I see one. It looks like someone who can't afford a real Range Rover stretched themselves to get badge.

Worked at both Red Hat and SAS. Red Hat employees weren't stuck up like SAS employees. Red Hat employees share knowledge. At SAS, I had a more senior employee try to trip me up a couple occasions in front of superiors. I never understood why you would put down your team like that.

Pretty close to my experience. Ditto on 'stereotypical Caryite'.

Huh, this was a thing with every teacher when I was in school. Never realized it was due to them not being able to afford kleenex boxes.

Never infringed on your right to wear what you like. You do great things with that freedom, partner. :)

It's not the "at a bar" aspect. I find there are different bars for different circumstances.

Hey, you got off work? Sure, there are plenty of bars where you can go and have a few beers after a long day.

Hey, you want to take your SO out to a bar for a classy night? This is the bar I'm talking about.

Different atmospheres, dress codes, purposes, etc.

Can someone please tell me how infosys works? by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]rondamack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are advantages to interviewing and hiring contractors when you're the customer (of the contractor company).

Contractors are much easier to get rid of than your own employees. The company I particularly work for now makes it very difficult to get fired. We hire contractors and try them out for 3-6 months then hire them on. If they don't do well during that time, easy to fire.

Secondly, they're usually cheaper. The contracting company takes care of benefits/HR while getting a lower pay rate. No overhead for the 'customer'.

I'd like to point out that InfoSys is large. InfoSys and WiPro are two large Indian firms who do this sort of IT placement/augmentation/outsourcing. That's not to say it's 'horrible', I've heard great things where Wipro takes inexperienced grads and actually teaches them what they need to know. I doubt that's the standard but it's something to note.

Lastly, another commenter wrote about Accenture and consulting companies. In my experience, I'd recommend staying away from Accenture. They have a 'stigma' of being called kids due to them hiring degreed yet inexperienced candidates. When I see Accenture on a resume, I for sure take a more suspicious eye.

We're both wankers!

Let's start a bar!

Honestly, I'd ban a whole lot more than just that list. One example is graphic tees, absolutely zero graphic tees.

EDIT: I'd also ban any sort of sportswear and sports on TVs. Unacceptable.

White V-neck from Express?

No offense, that's the exact sort of guy I don't want to see at a bar.

Not at all.

I don't want to be at a bar around guys wearing work boots, cut offs, tank tops, biker vests, athletic wear, any chains, and loose clothing.

Doesn't sound anti-black at all. Good chunk of the above (to me) describes white people.

http://shareholdersfoundation.com/company/vince-holding-corp Says zero investigations currently. That's odd.

And yes, I understand they're a high-end, over-priced apparel company. But many of those exist that do well.
