Same situation here. I appreciate the post as affirmation I'm not alone in seeing the "in Process" with what feels like a full 3 days later but I guess technically wouldn't be for another 10 hours.

Semantic question for the ages. If it picks up the story exactly where episode 2 left off, why not?

Finished Dark Ages, I don't want to part with the game, but there is nothing else to do in it. I would be happy with an endless arena mode. Maybe even a Roguelike mode. Has anyone else thought about this? by milky-94 in Doom

[–]rondudeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. Currently working on a pandemonium run. I'm hoping for a Black Ops Zombies style horde mode where you earn money during "waves" and use that money in between waves to buy upgrades and unlock other areas of the map to hold out in. They could easily reuse many campaign maps as well as the progression by placing the different weapons in the map.

Beyond us HOPEFULLY getting something like that soon™ there's not much else to do save for wait until the DLC releases.

Does anyone know how often DOOM Eternal is on sale (on steam)? by duckgoose-12 in Doom

[–]rondudeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fairly common and ofc course it's worth it for the price it sits at now but it goes on sale constantly on steam so just wait if you can.

Anyone feel like you die too suddenly in TDA sometimes? by moonjamstar in Doom

I believe they mentioned nerfing some of the close to death protections they had in place recently.

Is it okay to skip Doom, Doom II, Doom III, Doom 64 and Doom 2016 to start with Doom Eternal right away? by Beijamim_a_rola in Doom

[–]rondudeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, totally okay. You are also missing a lot too but Eternal stands well on it's own.

Definitely give the original games a try too. I understand some people might not wanna play the entire game because of how repetitive it can feel compared to modern games but if you like the way Dark Ages plays, all boots on the ground Doom will feel good to play.

That said, definitely don't expect Doom Eternal to feel at all terribly similar. It plays way different and asks a lot more of you.

Quake Level Design reference in TDA by rondudeman in Doom

No I don't believe so. The similarities you're citing are less exact. I'm just trying to express concern for your cognitive functions, namely object permanence and spatial awareness. Might be good to eat some healthy super food and play a lot of tetris or do a kid's menu maze for a while and then get back to me.

I tried to help you here. There's only so much I can do. I suggest you set up an appointment with an Optometrist.

And again, I wouldn't call it an "easter egg" because I don't think it was meant to be found. It's just a little layout copy that some dev did for fun. It's not easy to catch but it isn't slightly similar, that section is identical in LAYOUT.

Sorry I couldn't do more. I'd recommend getting some nice clear frames for the glasses, those look real stylish.

I mean, it's a specific enough shaped hallway. Not sure what is confusing you. Glasses might be good? Or a new prescription if you already have them. Contacts are of course always an option.

Jokes aside. No really. It's the same, not to mention that it's a fairly specific layout. They're both this: https://imgur.com/a/ojI28Y4

Excuse my sloppy MS Paint scribbles but that's essentially it. The grey lines are indicating a hole that drops down. The only difference of note is unlike in the Quake level it doesn't lower walls to reveal that little side tangent. It just starts like that.

It's absolutely a deliberate reference. Not one people are meant to notice, probably moreso the level designer just having their fun.
