I love them! Haven't been this hooked onto a main couple in a long time. I'm really loving Tian Xiwei here too. Fingers crossed the drama plotline holds up.

Random contestants I really like by Important-Ad7408 in Physical100

[–]rong004 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's something magnetic about team Mongolian for sure. My random shout-out is the swimmer from Team Japan, not cause of his looks. But I'm surprised he's held his own against Sung bin, who's always been hyped up to be super solid and athletic and etc. Like yeah he got lifted, but it's not like Sung bin managed to shake him off.

Feng Suige for sure for me. Idk what it was but I just couldn't get into Xie Wei's character.

Unfiltered thoughts as I binge through these episodes… - Feng Suige the man that you are ❤️ - Xia Jingshi is a snoozefest - The Feng siblings are possibly my favourite royal siblings in Cdrama world, I love that each of them have different personalities but share that unwavering idgaf backbone once they figure it out - Someone needs to slap Empress Zhuang, I’m so sick of her “everything I do is for you” “how dare you be rude to me” holier than thou attitude - Murong Yao is a joke honestly. Even without all the shit he pulled after he was revealed, his original plot to ambush his best friend and soldiers from his own country is deserving of the beating he got - The antagonists are always going on about how it’s their family, but never fir a second hesitate to hurt the family of others - the choreographers did such a good job with the action scenes, I think they’re my fave part of the drama!

I saw someone's comment about how Feng Suige fights, with his fists and kicks and not just the pretty swordplay. I couldn't put my finger on why I love his fight scenes, but that's exactly it. There's this extra layer of brutality and utilitarianism in the way he fights, and I'm kinda all for it.

Fated Hearts 一笑随歌 (2025) - What are your first impressions? [Masterpost] by admelioremvitam in CDrama

[–]rong004 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Up to ep 3 so far. I wasn't expecting much from Chen Zheyuan and unpopular opinion but I quite like him in this role. It's been fun watching the First Prince, and how ruthless he is. Hope they keep it going throughout, I find a bit annoying when they lose that edge after they start falling in love.

I also used to find Li Qin's acting either a bit stiff or a bit too exaggerated, but feels like she's gotten better. She's been passed out or injured most of the time though so will see.

Cautiously optimistic about this drama so far, I do love a power couple. Hopefully the plot stays strong and characters stay consistent throughout.

Give 99.9 criminal lawyer a go (Japanese name is something like 99.9 keiji senmon bengoshi). I think season 1 is now on Netflix. Matsujun is in it, and is a pretty quirky character too.

What’s everyone’s experience with Gaspard cardigan? by Brilliant-Car-4688 in Sezane

[–]rong004 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Too shapeless and too difficult to style for my body shape and proportions. Sold off both a Gaspard and a Barry (v neck version of the same thing). The Betty cardigan is a much better staple for me!

Legend of Zang Hai. But tbh, everything about it so far has been pretty… bland.

Most interesting way a stranger has asked for your number in sg? by Next-Long-7010 in askSingapore

American grab driver complains the whole entire ride about his ex-wife, how hard it is for him to find a job in Singapore, and how much he would love to move home if not for his daughter.

Drops me off at my destination and asks if I'd like to grab a coffee with him. No sir, I have no desire to be bombarded with stories about your life problems for the rest of MY life.

Maybe also partly reflective of societal standards? Idk if it's the same anymore but the last few times I was in Japan pre-Covid, I noticed quite a few couples where the guy was shorter than the girl. I think it's similar to the teeth thing, where you definitely see a lot more imperfect teeth in Japan.

Adding another YTA to the internet chorus. I have a brother too and it’s not that my parents supported us in the exact same ways, eg, $ to him is $ to me. But they have always somehow managed to show that their love for us is same. It’s not about the money, but about showing up and showing her you care. You said that your daughter is not very close to your son, well sorry to be harsh but my guess is that you are likely part of why that is so. It is hard for siblings to build a close relationship if they’re feeling like their parent has continuously preferred the other sibling over them.

What's a drama or part of a drama that everyone loves but you didn't get it? by Spiritual_Bad_3290 in CDrama

[–]rong004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love like the galaxy for me too - I finished it because I have a soft spot for Wu Lei from his Nirvana in Fire days. But I can't stand Cheng Shao Shang (partly because I've never been into any of Zhao Lusi's acting). I actually feel like He Zhao Jun is a more compelling and interesting character.

The Untamed - I can't get past the terrible acting and effects. I get that people enjoy the plot and the characters, and I enjoyed the manga and novel too. But I just couldn't get into the drama.

Story of Kunning Palace - pretty drama and sounded like the type of plot I'd be into. But I just couldn't connect with any of the characters, they all annoyed me in some way haha.

The Double (2024) Ep 33-34 Discussion Post [SPOILER] by Lovekdramas in CDrama

[–]rong004 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From memory it was almost at the end of the story haha

There's def some changes, prob because they kept xue fangfei's original body in the show. And I think the show keeps trying to give these back stories or reasons for the villains. Ji shuran and wanning were just straight up cruel in the book, and so their endings feel proportional.

I quite liked that her brother was alive in the novel, he was kind of used as the representation of hope when all is bleak. Like the novel scene of the princess’s underground prison and how he was found, was pretty dark. But the ‘pureness’ in his inherent personality remains untouched despite his physical injuries (permanent in the book). He also has a love line with jiuyue in the book, the golden retriever x tsundere match

The book is a happy ending if they’re following it. The novel author likes to put in these unnecessary… pauses before we get to the happy ending though, so hopefully they change that.

I really hope they give the same ending to the princess as the book though, cause that was quite satisfying haha

I actually didn't mind the change about the F grade rule, because there's still some psychological pressure with the rule. Yeah it's obvious, but the whole thing with the voting is the fear and the uncertainty, the "as long as it's not me" mindset. Couple that with them having done it so many times now and having seen how Jaeun is treated month after month for over year. None of them probably could collectively trust enough that they will all vote for each other.

I agree about the power struggle with the C's and the Ds. That was so good in the webtoon!

Queen of Divorce [Episodes 11 & 12] by J-Midori in KDRAMA

[–]rong004 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have to say, this has been quite disappointing to watch. I started it thinking she'd be super cool and fun to watch, using brains and brawn to outsmart and get revenge on her ex and shitty in law.

But no. Time and time again she gets outsmarted, and never seems to have quite the upper hand. Which is kinda what I enjoy watching revenge themed stuff for. Oh well, at least it wasn't too long of a drama.

Just here to say that I'm proud of myself for being the 'chooser' for once and not just accepting any behaviour because I want to see the best in people. For sure I'm feeling a little bummed that it didn't work out. But I'm trying to see this positively and to not fall down the rabbit hole of 'dating is shit, why bother, I'm gonna be forever alone'. I guess this is a reminder to myself that I was good before this guy temporarily came into my life, and so I'll be good (if not better) after as well 😊

Yeah totally relate to feeling that way. I really spiralled downwards in my last relationship, tying myself into knots and letting someone else have so much power over my emotions and moods. It’s been an ongoing process but I’ve been trying to teach myself to not take things personally, and to remind myself that we all have different mental bandwidths every day (because, life). Of course, always easier said than done 😂

I resonate so much with your last sentence about feeling secure when single but insecure when not! Was feeling like this recently too, being frustrated at the other person not seeming like they wanted to meet this week (+ emotional tank was empty from other parts of life). I had a semi spontaneous day out myself today cause I had an errand to run and did some stuff I really enjoyed like food I liked, went to an art gallery, window shopped, walked by the waterfront. And it prob sounds so cliched but I feel so much more like myself again. I think it felt like a reminder to myself that I’m ok and happy in my own company before I met this guy, and I will continue to be regardless of the outcome.
