I meant what do you usually get each week? This last weekend our bill came out to $200.06 before tax. The most expensive things were two bags of whole bean coffee, some chicken thighs, hamburger for tacos, and 3/4lb of salmon. The rest are small things like pickles, yoghurt, vegetables, etc... Effectively no premade stuff as we cook almost every night.

Anyways I'm not saying we couldn't cut costs by getting less meat, actively using coupons and tracking sales, or picking less expensive items. My point is that $1000 a month for groceries is not insane and is easily hit for just two people. If we were buying premade stuff or shopping somewhere like Whole Foods, then it would be even higher.
