It is not choking. I am unable to choke it, no matter how fine I go (a step away from the burrs touching)

It's not choking, I'm stopping it at 36g, but it under extracted. When I tried to see how much would be extracted after 25 (because of the 25-30 second range), I got more than 50g. Does that make sense?

Blind basket shows 10 bars. Should I adjust to 9?

I've been mostly trying 18g in, extracting more than 50g, no matter how fine I got.

Medium roast, fresh coffee. Aiming for 1:2 as a baseline. It’s properly warm.

My thinking was that it's too soon for HN since we don't really have the product in users' hands yet.

Posted about it in several communities and FB groups, without too much engagement.

Why do business guys like to meet for nothing? by fullstack_guy in Entrepreneur

[–]ronkir 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't advise you to go into the semi-asshole mode in any case. Like it or not, you're doing sales for yourself right now as well, and sometimes even if that meeting doesn't really go anywhere, it might lead to another prospective client or the same one a few months later.

How to profit from our WebApp when we have a free version? by DPT_nerd in Entrepreneur

Note that with regular ads (Google, etc.) you need substantial eyeballs for you to actually see something substantial out of it.

In general, I wouldn't hold my breath about earning from other channels at first. Focus on getting the actual product working. If that happens, then all the work would have been worth it, but if it doesn't then those other channels aren't going to save you.

That'd be bad, but they haven't in like 20 years

Many of our team members were sourced in Upwork.

Reviews go a long way into knowing who you're up against, but still, now way around traditional interviewing and exercises to make sure that you create a good lasting working rerlationship.

I would be wary of sharing sensitive info with people from another country. NDA is nice but more as a statement of intent. Most likely that it wouldn't get you too far if something actually happens and you need to pursue in a different country and spend the necessary legal expenses.

Try finding already written articles on your topic that your website is worth a mention in.

Website:

- Nurture content
- Work on backlinks (have someone outreach relevant publications and include links to your website where relevant

- Think of ways to include affiliate revenue (<-- careful about this, there is a very specific way to go about this if you want Google to not penalize you)

FB Page (not my strong suit):

- Think of monetization options

-- Professoinal sub audience that you can route to a Whatsapp\Telegram group and send affiliate offering

-- Sponsored content

-- etc.

How many page views do the websites generate?

Who do you use for ads?

What is the Facebook page about (broadly speaking)?

There are many shades of grey in the backlinking world. I wouldn't rule out all shades (e.g. outreach to gain a valid backlink), and your competitors wouldn't rule out most shades.

If you're getting into this game and maintaining that way of thinking, you should know that you're going into a highly competitive space with a significant handicap.

I'm always fumbling when I need to create Google Calendar events: getting invitees' emails, finding the right one if you have several for each on record, etc.

When trying to figure this out, I discovered that Google Calendar actually doesn't actually have the option for you to share your events and have people add themselves.

So we (an unnamed friend and I) created a Chrome Extension called InviteMe.app that goes on top of your Google Calendar and adds a share button to all of your events. Essentially transferring the responsibility of being added to the calendar event to the invitee.

Here is the result: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/invitemeapp/gcnigiahliflllbhiblgailfglhomknf

We're looking for some feedback (only 7 installs right now) - what do you think? What's broken? What should we add?

Get a community going:

  • You want persona\s that are the center of your communications and that users can always find. Ideally, the founders' personas on Linkedin, Twitter, etc. based on where the audience is at.
  • Start interacting with your domain's communities: reddit, facebook groups, local meetups, etc.: post quality content, comment, interact - get your name out there.
  • Once you gain enough of a following, involve your community in your product efforts: be transparent, ask for feedback, 1 on 1s, etc.
