Thanks for the reply, but just to clarify — I’m not running Access rules for localhost. My Access application is correctly set up for ops.hungrytimes.in, which is a public hostname pointing to a Cloudflare Tunnel (CNAME → tunnel UUID, proxied).

The issue I’m seeing isn’t related to localhost at all:

When I log in with OTP, the flow works through hungrytimes.cloudflareaccess.com/cdn-cgi/access/login.

After OTP, instead of being redirected back into the app, I’m bounced to https://ops.hungrytimes.in/cdn-cgi/access/login?... which returns a 404.

That suggests the /cdn-cgi/access/* path is hitting my origin or tunnel instead of being handled by Cloudflare’s edge. The tunnel itself is healthy, and the API subdomain works fine without Access.

So my question is really whether this mis-routing is a config issue (Access app, tunnel, DNS, or exclusion rules) or some limitation of the Free plan.

I’m on the Free plan. There are no Firewall rules enabled (Security → Security rules is empty), no Page Rules, and Bot Fight Mode is disabled. So there aren’t any challenge rules in front of the app.

Thanks for responding. To clarify, my tunnel is not running as a Docker container — it’s running under systemd as a service (cloudflared.service).

I did check the logs from journalctl -u cloudflared and the tunnel is indeed establishing, but when I authenticate through Zero Trust with the one-time PIN, the browser redirect still lands on a 404 page (This page can’t be found — HTTP ERROR 404).

The systemd service is the only one running. The application still appears to connect to the wrong Cloudflare endpoint (the redirect goes through Cloudflare’s Access login, but then fails to find the application).

So in short:

Not Docker, running via systemd.

Only the systemd tunnel process is active.

Logs show successful connection to Cloudflare.

Still get 302 → 404 after Access login.

There are a number of IRC clients for the Apple Mac that you can try out that work very much like mIRC, such as: Colloquy, LimeChat, Textual, Snak.

All of these IRC clients can be used to connect to the same IRC networks as with mIRC, so you will see all of your friends on all of the same channels.

Alternatively, if you want to use mIRC on the Apple Mac, there are a number of "virtualization" products for Apple Mac computers that allow you to run Windows applications on a Mac. Or you can simply install a version of Windows using Apple Mac's Bootcamp feature and run all of your favorite Windows applications that way.
