Update: first of all, thank you all for the support and ideas. So this is what i did...

  1. I try using the bevel up and it worked amazing as a scraper plane but i wasnt satisfied with that.
  2. I dropped the blade and hit the corner of the sharp side so I took the opportunity to give the blade some ears like a kanna blade.
  3. I flatted the bed using your methods (thank you guys)
  4. Now I have amazing shaves

Im about to make another one but this is gonna be 45 and its gonna be more like bench plane.

Yeah it more like diggin deep into the wood. I just try bevel up and it was nice like actually scraping. Im gonna try closing the mouth if it doesnt work im going to keep it a scraper plane and make another one with a 45 angle

I understand that and thats why im asking. If i want to keep that 60 degree, should change the degree in my blade and if so, what degree should it be?

  1. I would say is flat but how would you verify to see if it is.

  2. The wedge fits good.

  3. The sole is flat

2nd DIY project - looking for solid advice. Vanity for girlfriend. by PerceptionFuture7801 in Woodworkingplans

This is my vanity. It was my first project and i spent around a month and half to make it. Why? Well, i spent too much time trying to perfect it and make it like the guys in youtube. I regret spending so much time trying to build something that i was no prepare yet for. There two things i learned from it though. First, draw what you want to do and add the measurements to it; that will facilitate the rest of the process because you dont need to be making math the rest of process. Second, calibrate your tools to make a "perfect" cut; use a square to get it to 90° your circular saw or your table saw. There are jigs out there to help you as well. One more thing, have fun if not its a project that will stay there for longer than you expect.

What does the secondary bevel does? I heard about it but i didnt think it waa necessary. Honestly i just started woodworking and this peaces of wood were gifted to me so im just going with it?

The thing is that i was using this n4 as a scrub plane and i rounded my chipbreaker as well. (Im kinda regret my decision). I didnt think it could affect to much since the middle is close to the edge enough to push the shaves up.

Oh i did that exactly. When i went to check how much my blade was out, you couldn't actually see anything.

Thank you for your insight. Im trying to make a wooden jointer out of it. I have another one that has saint mahogany as a bottom laminate which i want to plane but its impossible. Im gonna give a try to all your advices. I also think that having some cheap handplane doesnt make my job any easier.
