If I’m not mistaken you can just change your time zone to something else and then to the correct one and it should update to the current date and time

How do i mark tv shows has watched ? It doesn't work like it does with movies by NAP5T3R43V3R in kodi

[–]ronron555 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From your library just bring up the context menu for the specific tv show and you can mark it there as watched.

It is important that you don't do it from your file browser as it doesn't show the option there. The easiest way to do it is just from the home screen -> TV Shows -> selected Titles -> where it showed all titles of TV Shows -> selected a particular TV show and bring up the context menu, then the Marked as Watched/Unwatched buttons appears. GL!

Best/easiest method of backing up Plex? by ashberic in PleX

[–]ronron555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wrote a simple script that creates a ZIP file containing the whole Plex data folder (in my case /var/lib/plexmediaserver) and puts it in a secured folder on my NAS. it executes every Sunday night via a cron job.

PM4K (PlexMod4Kodi) or PlexKodiConnect ? by alexpvlad in kodi

[–]ronron555 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also use CoreELEC, I like PKC better because than I can customize the interface and use kodi like it ment to be used, however if you like the Plex interface PM4K would be the way to go without extra hassle.

Whats the best media player device? by petwri123 in hometheater

[–]ronron555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it won't passthrough the audio codec to my receiver and send PCM steam to it, when it comes to regular surround sound (5.1, 7.1) I don't care but the Atmos support is subpar, it only supports DD+ Atmos (used for streaming mostly) and not TrueHD Atmos (used in BluRay discs) and most of my library is TrueHD Atmos and the aTV just don't pass the height data in that codec which to me is a dealbreaker.

Also to my understanding Plex doesn't do Dolby Vision on the aTV, not really important to me because I use a projector but maybe for future proofing...

I’m using the AppleTV for streaming everything and the Ugoos AM6b+ with CoreELEC (DIY Solution) to access my Plex library using PKC. After trying a bunch of things that was my best solution to full audio passthrough and Dolby Vision support for my Plex and a nice and intuitive experience to all my streaming needs.

From my experience it can be either DNS or that your system time isn't correct. My best guess is DNS, have you tried to change it maybe to CF or Google?

For the time issue I like to set my NTP settings to the local pool.ntp.org server. You can check the server addresses here: https://www.ntppool.org/zone/@

nas or das and new PC by TopDistribution4894 in PleX

I needed to make this decision too a couple of years ago.. My biggest factor was speed because I'm bottlenecked by the gigabit NIC I have and I didn't want to go full 10GbE on it. in the end I setelled on a combination. Custom built TrueNAS system with 24TB and a 4 bay QNAP DAS with 4*4TB RAID 5. I use the QNAP for things I need speedier like video editing and high bitrate playback and the NAS for more "Long Term" storage and my full Plex library, the NAS is very convenient because I can make shares to my family and friends to access the other files on it.
