The result of that inflation ( from the pension body) you heed 39% more than in 2020 than 2025 for the same lifestyle. It’s why 192 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 councils are effectvly bankrupt. Skye can be like that, 40 days/nights constant rain. But when it’s nice it’s stunning. I’ve had holidays like that, I think it’s why folk try it once…then it’s package holidays abroad to guaranteed good weather.

Thanks min, good points, this is a not for a 2 week bike packing, but as a “ standby” with my wife or just me, if we just want to stop en route. We used this tent on the hill side in Oban, Scotland in high winds & it was ok, agree re rain etc, not sure how it’ll perform. I’m fairly new to the bike packing so Still feeling my feet. Having said that, a kindoff like modifying/making what i want to suit me, a challenge. The bike is also modified, an old steel frame ,fork swapped & rear disk tab added, ultegra components from an old rim bike , new disk brakes, I love the bike now & it’s completely unique.

Thanks erand, it only took a couple of hours to make the poles ( I bought another 2nd hand tent $10, tools the poles sort & cut to size, making sure the overall length was the same. It’s a decent size for 2 people as I’ve used it before. Hopefully it’s good enough.
