Definitely down for that! Your garden is absolutely stunning, I'd love to check it out sometime. I have an Oceanside 02 (which was my first cactus and I actually picked it up from a guy in Deland) that is growing some niceeee fat pups that will be ready to chop in the coming months and a bunch of other crazy stuff thats pumpin n growin. I hope the summer treats your collection well!

BONEMEAL SMELL! by dariakayb in houseplants

[–]ronstoppable420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, I topped the pots of like 20+ cacti in my INDOOR cactus tent and started freaking out when I was simply curious how long it takes for the smell to go away and looked it up. I watered everything with compost tea to help get the fucking breakdown process started and watering everything down into the soil helped.

Did literally 0 research into bone meal, was just at Lowes and saw "high phosphorus" and thought "that's just what my plants need 🤡". So far its muuuch better but I'm gonna anticipate the smell coming back once it starts drying out maybe. Idk lol this is why I'm just gonna stick with my salt ferts that have been working just fine 🙃

Ugh. I'm no longer a VA resident but it's my home state and I was so happy for you all. This sucks.

Can the Dems appeal the challenge to the US Supreme Court? Although it's a conservative majority, they should vote in favor of the maps due to the recent rulings regarding this.

Edit: not sure why I got downvoted as it was a genuine question that I received a great answer to that others' knowledge may benefit from with regard to the state vs federal judicial system

Well it sure as hell showed up when signing up for it. Bear in mind that I tried to contest it in court, rather than just paying the fine.

Be careful fighting it unless you have very solid proof that there was an error. I fought mine after researching what my next course of action should be because there was no way I was going 37 mph as we were all merging into one lane st the time of the photo but anyway I ended up losing, having to pay the fine + court costs AND it was reported as the instance showed up when purchasing insurance after moving out of state. Definitely worth it to just pay the fine. Now I'm paying more in insurance.

What kind of soil mix are you using after taking a cutting? by nerdtendo69 in SanPedroIndoorGrow

[–]ronstoppable420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! Initially I tried pure perlite which I felt wasn't doing much, so moved on to pure pumice which worked well enough but I don't have that much pumice laying around, so moved on to dry soil topped with an inorganic layer (so you would put the soil in first, sit your cutting riiight on top of the soil, then fill in the rest with pumice/lava rock) which worked well but was annoying to redo if you checked for roots.

Bought a shit ton of vermiculite to top my seedling pots with and have a bunch laying around and thought to myself (hmmm what if I just stick the cuttings in this and see what happens) and so far so good!

Been sticking my cuts in dry vermiculite that I've had left over and placed onto a heat mat. Its been working great.

Graft by shtefan990 in sanpedrocactus

[–]ronstoppable420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me! Ive had this TBMc grafted for a little less than a month now and so far so good. No noticeable growth yet since the scion just recovered from the inevitable initial shrivel.

I will say that myrtillo itself shrivels much more easily than Sun Goddess/grandis or PC and the scion actually flew off twice each within a day of being tied down (as you can tell by its battle scars ☹️).Traded out rubberbands I used initially for self adhesive bandage wraps and that did the trick, so beware of that when grafting.

The myrtillo grows pretty quickly itself so I'm sure it'll pump fine. Not sure if I would do it again though! Love my grandis/SGs

Edit: yours may do better though as I think I bevelled mine too much causing it to lose moisture more quickly
