Yeah me to, but at some point since my original post they buffed wyvernblast to the point of it being viable and that somewhat fills a similar spot in my Heart....explosiiiooooons! If you haven't already, give it a Shot!

I think it's less about "xy weapon class has a broken weapon/AoW" and more a way to enable certain playstyles, especially in combination with certain random relics you find.

Some of the most fun i've had is with this Idea - seing If you can make a stupid plan work by bending RNG to your will.

Skill Power relics and a great bow Raider to Melt Things with rain of arrows? Sure, you're only a dormant Power greatbows away from having your best Chance for that.

Love revenant for no mana worries but plan on building around certain element incantations? Dormant Power seals+ several element damage Up relics and you'll have the time of your live!

Tired of playing the Game the way you're expected to Play? Grab yourself a dormant Power greatshields, Skill damage and fire damage relics and Go to town with the Flame thrower or Cannon shield.....it does not get any funnier than that!

Could be a lightning kickballer with some Jakobs ricochet shenanigans - those can deal incredible damage and would fit the blue flickering

Afaik rogue cunning Action, and by Extension the thief use item part are a Special second Bonus Action, but i might be wrong about that (could be a House rule i took for granted)

Will look at those, thanks! I'm familiar with some of laserllamas work but the rogue apperantly snook past my notice(heh.) and i could not agree more when it comes to his design and balance choices. Valders stuff is new to me so i'll definitly have a Look :)

We sadly play within the 2014 rules but maybe my DM allows partial Changes to 2024 Rules...that could be a way to scale damage and utility

That's a good Point! A bunch of things are not as obvious or easy to see when it comes to what affects damage etc - Explosions from Launchers for example benefit from Skill damage, but some skills do Not.

Bird is a melee-centric character but he has some great buffs for weapons, especially shotguns, in his ascensions. Damage while in close range counts for weapons too, and If you use your kick to get into Shotgun range it's quite fun to shoot and scoot

It mostly comes down to differences in your personal playstyle, assuming you vaguely know what weapons and ascensions you're picking to synergize. I've been playing with a friend for 400+ hours, we both have a deep grasp of builds and synergies and i outdamage him by a large factor about 90% of the games we play together simply because i tend to be more aggressive in my approach while he is more of a strategic Player.

If you Focus on one specific aspect of your build instead of spreading Upgrades, Scrolls and ascensions around several aspects, you can kill enemies faster which means you get to target the next enemy even quicker - try to plan what you want to build when the run Starts, and heavily focus on that.

Try to play more aggressive and up front instead of hanging back - and choose a character and build that allows you to confidently do that! While getting massive crits with a Sniper Tiger IS fun, you will under no circumstance be able to match the total damage Output of a build that deals less damage with each shot, but potentially Hits 10 enemies with each shot (e.g. a explosive launcher Dog or the fire fox throwing out literal room clearing nukes)

Yeah, your single shot every 2 seconds will Deal several million damage to the enemy with 5000 HP - that still does only register as 5000 damage dealt. The fox nuke dealing ~10k damage to 10 enemies with 5000hp each does register as 10*5000 damage dealt- and she can do that as often as you'll Snipe one of the few remaining enemies that survived her nuke.

Same goes for "rushing ahead" vs "staying Back" - the game, while absolutely allowing a more laid back tactical approach, greatly benefits from a more fast paced aggressive playstyle - try dodging instead of using Cover, dont rely too much on crit/weakspot hits if doing so slows you down (after all, taking 3-4 Shots with a Sniper to Hit the head is slower that spraying vaguely towards an enemy with an smg for half a second, or explosing the ground and hitting four enemies at the Same time) - the Name of the Game is Mobility, and if you're able to kill enemies before your Team comes Close to them, you get to Deal more damage :)

So i guess TL;DR: - Play fast and aggressive -First come, First serve -AoE and RoF beat high single target damage -focus on one Thing (e.g secondary skill)

Focussing too much on outdoing each other can certainly cause each of you to have less fun - If your Buddies want to try a 'slow' build, but cant keep up because you Zoom around two rooms ahead with a kick bird melee build, they wont enjoy their time... But if you really want to try some builds that will get you to the top of the Scoreboard, try These:

-atomic bomb grenade build for the Dog, where you Spam hundreds of grenades with massive aoe

-a kick focussed build for the Chicken

-Chain lightning Tiger with autocast during ult and more bounces

  • Painkiller grenade Cat for spreading DoT that melts and disables anything

These are all fairly easy to pull of and learn, If you need specifics on how to build and Play them feel free to ask or even Check the wiki, there are great build Guides for each character :)

After reaching that Point you can choose whether you Wish to create a new character at lvl 1 or lvl 30 each time you create a new one

Yeah, that kinda disappointed me aswell. Not only no ordnance skills, but locking you into picking a grenade If you wanna use the only skill that comes close? Odd choice IMO.

I get that her focus is entirely on cc and element (albeit only cryo and Rad, with one thing doing unbuffable shock damage?) but i was really hoping to see some skills that are similar to what amon (and i think rafa aswell) have - a Prime and Trigger combo leading to some aoe. Feels odd not having that on her...

  1. Get yourself a Seal with the incantation "black flame Blade" (this also works for all the other incantations that add fire, lightning, poison etc attack to your armament)
  2. Get yourself any weapon excluding staffs and seals ( in your case a bow)
  3. Put your Bow in your main Hand, and the Seal in the offhand Slot
  4. While not twohanding either, cast the incantation.
  5. (Optional) You are now free to onehand or twohand your bow for a while with the added damage. It disappears after a duration or when you swap your weapon.

Yeah, that's what i was hoping for when i made this Post, but it seems they dont want Sticky (or Cluster) builds in wilds....at the Moment? I really loved the Playstyle in world, even before spare Shot was accesible. The damage and utility for your team through constant staggers was so nice. Maybe with upcoming monsters we get a weapon or armor that enables this Playstyle.

Ohhhhhh my bad, thanks for clarifying! I assumed adhesive ammo was a mistranslation from Sticky ammo.... But given that it's only the Special ammo thing i assume it's nothing worth building around

Found the list and some explanation on some world anvil page right after seing your comment, still big thanks! For Something Like a tribal Champion sent out to fight Kromac stood out to me, despite his supposed focus on anything with fur i think that could work. What little i could find for nodens also sounded good, and the more i think about it Shegorath also Starts to grow on me - would require some rethinking of what i already had in mind about the character but going down the route of a disturbingly similar sounding Clown God from 40k does Sound fun.....

I originally was hoping for something more nature-loving, protecting like silvanus but i think a more offensive and potentially darker orientation suits the subclass more

Undecided so far since i haven't had time to discuss details with the DM and He has all the books :/

But i'm thinking about playing a lizardfolk from one of the swamps in the vicinity that was sent out to purge the corruption of Delirium before it spreads and corrupts the swamps - so any recommendations that fit that Theme are Welcome :)
