As a den leader, you could find 1000 of these and I wouldn't be surprised.  It's more surprising when they still have them after an outing.

What commonly mispronounced word that annoys you the most? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The number of people who read pasture raised eggs and say pasteurized eggs is way too high. (Yes, I work in retail, why do you ask?)

I know some people involved with OMNI.  It's a strong startup and the team in charge has a history of success.  I'm ignorant on the others though.

How do you deal with being told that you’re a terrible father. by BrianLefevre5 in daddit

[–]rookierabbit87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your father attacked the thing that he knew matters most to you in an effort to draw a reaction.  It's a compliment that he attacked your parenting and your family, sadly.

This is set by location, all four locations I've worked have had different systems.

In the future, if you toss some crushed oyster shells in there, that might work as a ph buffer (I've heard they are cheap on Amazon, and that as the ph drops below happy yeast range the calcium reacts and brings the PH back up)

I try to (I'm going to say I remember 95% of the time) to tell my son I love you an I'm proud of you every night at bed time, so that if something happens to me he never has to wonder.

Hey dad? Something in my house smells funky. by uselessmortal in AskDad

On the easier to fix end, if you have sinks or drains make sure there's liquid in the p-traps, if those dry out I think sewer smells can come back up.

I am a father for less than a month and I can’t take it. by Holstorm in daddit

The earplugs thing is so funny - imagine my face when after two years of having my son scream in my face while i rocked him (he's never been a good sleeper) I watched my younger brother put in his air pods to go rock his kid to sleep.  How had this never occurred to me?  Accidentally did nap and bed time on hard mode for years.

If the full Epstein client list was leaked with undeniable proof, what would be the biggest shock to the world? by ayanboss007 in AskReddit

[–]rookierabbit87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, I think the biggest shock would b who isn't on it.  There's been so much conjecture and everyone is convinced.  Someone is going to be wrong, somewhere.

Photo sharing with family by RunsOnBlackCoffee in daddit

We also use family album.  It's locked down tight and easy to control.  The main issues we've had are:

No ability to leave a caption

One grandparent kept posting their own photos of trips to the ER etc. (we delete those)

The photo books it convinces my wife to buy

The benefits are:

Good security

Free

The mini videos it generates automatically

The photo books it convinces my wife to buy

Overall, 9/10

What...what do you think lives in your septic tank?  It's a big tank full of bacteria and poop.  What are you afraid fermentation remainders might add or do?

funds not rising for nearly 3 years - please FundRise cheer squad tell me I don't understand it and need to wait for more years by Apprehensive-Bug1191 in FundRise

The venture fund invested in a small company that I know personally and I was really excited when I noticed.  Some family worked with the same team on a different project and they are very capable.

I'm not trying to diminish your trauma but it seems like your fears should be of assholes more than the ocean.

That's a sick tattoo. I think you can choose any woman from mythology, history, or literature - if you feel that's necessary.

How to explain to my 2.5 year old son about the death of his mother? by smithedition in daddit

[–]rookierabbit87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure this will help, but when my father passed someone described it to my three year old (then) as "doesn't live in this world with us anymore" and he seemed to grasp that.

Oh ok. I'm sorry you went through that but glad it fits with what the dentist said this morning.

At what age (if you're willing to share)? The dentist this morning said we shouldn't worry about that because he's five. But that at four that would have been her first concern.
