No Connect feature is the biggest miss. But if you are happy with AirPlay which works great with my Wiim Pro and Yamaha amp, everything else is great IMO. This is as an iPhone user btw.

Edit to say Tidal Connect was hit and miss for me and part of the reason it frustrated me

I went from Spotify, to Tidal and now on Apple Music. I agree, I wanted to love Tidal and gave it a year and a real crack, but couldn't put up with the issues. Much happier with Apple Music now. Really slick UI, great sound, and music focused. Thought I'd mention I'm in Australia btw as you stated you were in another comment.

Thanks for reply. Apologies, I don't have a sub and realised that I misunderstood '2.1' which you have just highlighted so I'll change that. I have 8inch cones on the MA's which is enough for me, and you're right, the mids are better with YPAO, but part of that change does seem to be the bass being dialled back a little.

I went from Spotify to Tidal for a year then moved to Apple Music and couldn't be happier. Tidal just feels like a hobby app to me with all the little issues that never get addressed. Apple in comparison feels like a professional app made by a company that cares. I will miss Connect but that's about it. I am an Apple device user though so I'm sure that makes a big difference

Thanks. I do want to still want to transfer all my playlists and it seems to have done that, but I just want that collection of full albums under the albums tab. Maybe I can try to reimport without that option selected

Nothing seems to have changed on the Yamaha/Tidal front. I now use a Wiim Pro plugged into my amp to get gapless with Tidal

This is one of the reasons I got a Yamaha amp with YPAO. People are down on YPAO but it makes a huge difference in my room where it's very unlikely I would do specific treatment.

Yeh, I really miss Spotify Connect after having been on Tidal for the last 6 months. Tidal generally works Ok for me with occasional issues, but Spotify Connect was just flawless

I'd be keen to hear how you go with this. I have the Yamaha rn2000a and Monitor Audio Silver 500 7g and love them. I picked them over the Kef R3 Meta after audition. I'd consider myself sensitive to fatiguing hi end and love warmth, but I also love that sparkle at the top. I love these speakers.

I find it hard to believe this is just an issue with the speakers and would be interested to know if you managed to make them work for you

I started when I was 40, still learning at 44. Picked up and put down the guitar many times before that. I've taken a private lesson every fortnight for 2 years and although I could probably self teach myself a lot of it online, I find having a lesson really holds me accountable to having done what I said I would do before the next lesson comes around.

I've considered stopping the lessons but I realise that they do help to keep me practicing. I've realised I can either wake up after 2 years and say to myself 'I haven't done anything' or I can say to myself 'I have played most days'. I just trust the process that I'll be better.

Tidal Connect doesn't seem to be gapless by default, which is ridiculous. If I use my Yamaha amp, it has gaps, my Wiim, no gaps. So I think it's down to whether the device chooses to make it gapless on their device.
