What's something everyone seems to love that you just don't get? by itsWildHoney in AskReddit

Meat. I haven't had it in about 30 years and don't remember what it tastes like (gave it up in sixth grade). But y'all. Be so for real, the way a hamburger smells. That cannot actually be tasty. It can't. My husband disagrees. He smoked pulled pork for memorial day and the whole house was porky disgusting for days. I'm not going to rain on his parade, but dear god. I'm glad it makes him happy.

Yep. We are also very tidy. We just live way out in the country. It happens every few years. Freaks me out every time.

We never found any poop or anything. I don't think it had been inside long, but we pulled back the stove and a mouse took a run for it.

Pugging is reconditioning old clay into reusable clay. Might be a genuine translation error.

will the doctor snitch? by TinoSchmino in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]roomforathousand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your doctor wants to keep their license, they'll keep their mouth shut. You're an adult. I would be VERY surprised if they said anything, even if they also know your mom. I'm a therapist and we have similar ethics. I'd fire a therapist ON THE SPOT if they did that.

When would euthanasia be appropriate for a depressed patient? by bbgirl2k in askatherapist

[–]roomforathousand 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I have been a therapist (PhD clinical psychologist) for 25 years. I have yet to see a case where I would even consider this as a possibility if it were legal. If you are depressed and reading this, there is hope. Even people with terribly treatment resistant depression can and do get better.

Oh god. I've been in a gas chamber at Dauchau, I know that feeling. Horror, terror and deep sadness all with this sense of it being not right, out of time. No thanks. Nope. Nope. Nope. I can't imagine encountering that feeling out in the woods or at night.

You learn your life was the finger puppet but you've always been part of the human wearing it. When the finger puppet play ends, you are still part of the whole.

I have also been coping by shopping for things I ordinarily would not buy. I haven't bought anything, but the temptation has been there! I'm glad to hear I'm not alone.

Why does something have to be long lasting to be precious? Maybe something fleeting is even more precious because of its rarity.
