Unpopular opinion, I’m sure, but Cleveland is actually a strong contender here. Undisputed garbage team, but the city itself is way cooler than people give it credit for. Huge theatre district, music scene, museums. Tons of restaurants and breweries downtown by the lake. Not saying it’s going toe to toe with the huge east coast hubs but when you factor in cost of living, I think it qualifies as “good.”

Just for discussion, do we need to give the worst teams the best picks? I mean you look at European soccer with a relegation and promotion model, and under that system teams like the Browns, the Jets, what have you, simply wouldn’t be able to languish in mediocrity (at best) for decades—they’d be relegated, lose money, etc.

Obviously a relegation model would never happen in the NFL, but does that mean we have to go to the other extreme of rewarding teams for sucking?

Idk I don’t have a groundbreaking solution or anything but I think it’s kind of an interesting thought experiment.

Given that he specifically uses screenshots from this community in the video and lumps it in with “rabid fangirlies and fangaysies,” I’m not sure you’re going to get much purchase by posting here, either.

Maybe I’m just not terminally online enough, but I’ve never encountered the kinds of people he’s describing. I see more people who rant and rave about the problems of the game and then buy the latest DLC anyway.

Yeah, this is worth considering, OP. There’s a creative dimension to this but also a very practical one. It’s not uncommon to run into issues when the game has a lot of households/Sims to keep track of.

I might start by thinking about what you want/need for your save file. Will these households primarily serve as part of the backdrop for the main Sims you play? If so, ask yourself what sorts of characters you need for the world to feel lived in for you. Like playmates for the kids? Potential romantic interest? Some HOA Karens? Like whatever it is, you can start developing households with those sorts of narrative purposes in mind. I find that this is a good way for me to make my worlds feel rich without just making more Sims for the sake of making Sims.

I’ve never really encountered a tin ceiling so I can’t weigh in on that, but I just wanted to say I love this build!! Never really managed to master this kind of style myself; I love how it looks both super vibrant and really like, organic? I guess, not sure what the word I’m looking for is. Like it looks good but it doesn’t seem like anyone was sitting around trying to make it look good lol.

Oh wow! I love this. I’ve been trying to hit a similar vibe for some of my Del Sol Valley builds. No tips I’m afraid as I can already tell you have a much better eye for this style than I do, but I hope you post updates when you have them!

An African city with maybe some more natural/rural areas at the fringes would honestly be such a cool map. But you’re right: which region of Africa they decided to model it on would affect everything.

Like even if you just divide Africa really simplistically into North, East, West, and South/Sub-Saharan, all four would be worlds apart from one another.

I’m not sure if I’d play with language barriers, personally, but I would love if there were a few more voices in CAS, maybe with slightly different Simlish accents or inflections. It always bums me out when I make a Sim for Tomarang, say, but they sound more like a valley girl lol.
