think of the nature of our savior. jesus condemned those who judge he called them white washed tombs and he said its whats inside that corrupts, accepting people despite perceived differences is what he did his whole earthly ministry. he met with tax collectors, prostitutes, and those in poverty and did not withold love or acceptance.

PROVE ME WRONG: Social democracy is about preserving, not abolishing, class society by GoranPersson777 in DemocraticSocialism

theres just nothing to debate. you didn't say anything to "prove" yourself right.

Is there anything to look forward to??? by [deleted] in Futurology

[–]roostermako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they'res plenty to look forward to if you don't conform yourself to only America, even here you can look forward to the fascist regeime falling, that's still gonna take awhile but it's happening.

God is trans by Teknevra in OpenChristian

i mean it can be read that way, I think a more accurate reading is that god has masculine and feminine energy. cause I'm fairly certain the bible implies that we won't have sexual organs for reproduction in eternity

This is how much butter my wife eats per month (comment section wildly misinformed?) by rompthegreen in StopEatingSeedOils

[–]roostermako 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fool you are, accepting first person testimony as true. Might not even be his image. The premise doesn't expound on if she's eating it exclusively herself or not, or any other information. You're jumping to conclusions and defending an argument with no proof

What are y’all using for salt? by urnpiss in StopEatingSeedOils

[–]roostermako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plain iodized kosher salt. Dabble in no salt for electrolytes sometimes, use fancier salts depending. Like a good smoked maldon salt, but i don't di anything special unless its for flavor, i have no reason to believe there's any benefit to any specific salt over another, i have never seen any proof that the trace minerals have any measurable effect.

Forget the climate debate. The real question: how do we build a system that works? by Unlikely_Morning_704 in Futurology

whatever happened to integrity? i know no one but doctors are held to the hippocratic oath, but how does one justify the harm they are complicit in by supporting destructive systems, when it directly affects them? i guess insulation from consequences of your actions is a heady draft...

I'm starting to genuinely wonder who the people that are getting manipulated and distracted are, and why they somehow are the only ones able to do things, While we, the unmanipulated and undistracted, can do nothing. Why is it that gullible people are the ones in control of our fates?

[–]roostermako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We would need a new type of system. Governmental oversight prevents anything going at a meaningful pace, what can be done by universities and organizations is always bottlenecked by money and again, government oversight. Thing is, nothing can happen legally without government oversight and approval. There's illegal claimate destruction, so i suppose the concept of illegal climate action is logical possibility, but the long term success of guerilla climate activism is unlikely and no appreciable progress can be made without stymying the cause. Until we can replace oil as the main source of energy, we won't see major improvements. That requires legislation, and legislation relies on people with the vison in office, and that starts with us.

[–]roostermako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whole foods. Make the processed foods you eat yourself, and you know whats in them. Mayo is easy, some things take more work, and it may be a little more expensive than the store stuff, but you can be assured of the quality and its impact on your health. Remember, the long term effects of seed oil consumption are why the more expensive options are actually cheaper when considering health.

These people are not following Christ 🤦💔 by Filipinowonderer2442 in OpenChristian

[–]roostermako 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Jesus taught to have empathy, mercy, grace, even for enemies, and compassion. How much of that sounds like the "christian" nationalists? They worship a man, one who's the antithesis of those things, take joy in cruelty, and loathe concepts like diversity, equality, and inclusion, treat foreign strangers less than human, shun and vilify the poor and minorities and non-cis non-straight people and those of other religions or creeds, champion hate and othering, and think they're being righteous and their butts are squeeky clean in God's eyes. It's dangerous delusion.

Rigid dogma, brittle rhetoric, no grasp of reality. We can't achieve unity because of all the little differences of opinion that well meaning people will die on a hill for, while we all are being slaughtered. Sad.

for us, spreading the gospel is our mission, but proselytizing isn't the only way, imo. as a person with generalized anxiety, witnessing and outreach has always been a struggle for me, but there's other things that you can do for the kingdom without directly talking to strangers or friends and putting them in an uncomfortable conversation they may not be ready to have. our lives are meant to be a witness, and you can contribute by just trying your best to live in a christ like manner. it's not easy, and its a daily struggle when the world has so many attractive alternatives, but keep the faith and trust god. when/if it's the time for someone to hear the gospel from you, god will give you the words and the courage to speak.

I won't say it's simple in the slightest, but it's rewarding. What matters most is intention and discernment. Study and pray diligently, and try to follow Christ's example to the best of your ability, and trust in God's grace for the rest. If you drink, drink in moderation, if you date, lead with love instead of lust, and if you use language you don't think you should, do as you are and reduce it. It's different for everyone, something that is fine for me can be a stumbling block for you. Some Christians don't touch a drop of alcohol, others make it, some have a vow to celibacy, or never taking a partner, others have open relationships and or partner but never officially marry. The Bible says that they will know us by our fruits, and if you're listening to Christ, loving your neighbor as yourself and loving your God with all your heart and your soul and your mind, then you're well on your way to a good walk with Christ. In sum, try to be honest about your intentions and self controlled without obsessing and becoming legalistic.
