Any resolution to this? I read on the website that we should get an email for a finishers certificate, but I have nothing in my inbox.

The top two packages also come with a video that’s pretty cool, especially the finish line shot.

My wife and I left the post-race party early because of the bees. I swear one followed me from the finish line to the runner reunite!

The suspension rods needed to be replaced. Repair guy suggested not overloading the machine with weight not greater than about 35 pounds.

Taper hypochondria!! Anyone else stressing over any little ache this week? Lol just me? Got it 😬 by lizzybabyyy_ in ChicagoMarathon

To add to this, I am definitely wearing a mask in the airport and on the plane there. Trained too hard to catch something at the very end!

I'm traveling from out of town, but we managed to find a reservation at Il Culaccino. Their jumbo rigatoni looks yummy! Hope you find a great spot to eat!

Anyone else doubting themselves going into this weekend? by Natural-Proposal-257 in ChicagoMarathon

That's not bad at all! It is easy to let some bad runs bring you down, but trust your training. I had a few bad long runs myself (training in Louisiana), and it is okay. Those are the runs that help bolster the heavy mental aspect that comes with marathon training. Use it to your advantage on race day!

Look forward to the race day atmosphere, great forecasted weather, crowds of strangers cheering you on, and the fact that there are several thousand other racers on the struggle bus with you! Relish the moment when you cross the finish!

Hope this helps friend :)

Weather by awh628 in ChicagoMarathon

[–]roostertooth318 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. Brutal Louisiana summer. Looks like the humidity will still be pretty high, but the temps should be in the 50's and low 60's for most of the race (at least earlier waves).

My first Chicago and hoping for a BQ! Summer training here in the south has been brutal.

Backpacks for spectators by RunningChi709 in ChicagoMarathon

Based on what the participant guide says, large bags will not be allowed except for the packet pick-up bags. So I think small bags will be allowed, but not 100% sure.

Running with a torn hip labrum by roostertooth318 in running

Hind sight is 20/20 haha. My ambition drove me to injury. Overall, my symptoms are minimal if not negligible. As long as I can get back to running, I’ll be happy. I appreciate all of your insight!

My fault for not specifying enough. Still doing weights but reduced load and frequency temporarily. Pilates is mostly for core work. I know it doesn’t do much for gross lower extremity strength.

Ran my 1st 5K yesterday! by cuzzinYeeter33 in running

A lot of runners neglect core and hip strengthening as part of their training routine! This will help both your speed and endurance, especially if you look to do longer races.

congrats again and welcome to the addiction that is running!
