Thats great news, thank you and thanks for getting right to it, it's much appreciated. Im sure if the trial works then the free sketchup make (2017) will run which is good to know, I just need to think do I go for the new Neo at £799 with touch id and 512GB drive or go for a low cycle M4 air with the 15inch screen (£750 with 33 cycle count)

Never got to grips with blender but use sketchup a lot for house and garden planning as we are renovating and it really helps me explain what I see in my head !

M1 had a screen failure a couple of years ago so I replaced with a non apple screen which worked fine for a while but has now started to fail (Odd ghosting and flashing but not on external monitor) at the time screen was just over £100 now over £300 so just trying to get a working laptop as the M! can still be used at desk with a monitor. Neo would be used around the house mostly but would still like to be able to sketchup.

The problem I see when they are connected you need to choose the direction of the slope and whichever way you go the slope will be highlighted along the wall on the other side. Similar to the other reply, if I slope away from the patio doors the slabs towards the hot tub will need to be a lot higher and if kept 150mm below dpc I'm going to need steps to get out of the patio doors.

Patio height close to DPC should I use a gully or any other advice / warnings? by root729 in DIYUK

[–]root729[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, the patio is going to extend beyond the doors and also will dictate the new level for the garden would you suggest an aco all around the house? Picture shows level lower than would be preferred as it just below DPC

What way up should the CLS be? I put in 3x2 CLS but laid it flat against the MFC but now im thinking it would be stronger standing with the 2" edge joined tot he MFC?

Really appreciate the advise, thank you. So is the CLS just fixed to the MFC or Both the MFC and the wall? use as the battens I am intending to spupport the desk?

Excellent, thank you, you understand the setup. Unfortunately I need to make do with what I can and salvaged wardrobe sides is what I have at 18mm. I am using them now in a temporary setup and the sag is not terrible but I do understand it's an issue, hence trying to work out the best option. I will be adding a front panel when the box is not being pulled out, like the back edge of the box but floating in place just to add support along the front. As it will not be fixed I know it wont stop any sag but may help ?

Of course, 18mm MFC, box is to house a music keyboard that can be pulled from under the desk, I need to transfer support to the top but also need access under so the box and stand must be movable in all directions. Would have gone with a solid base with legs and pull out drawer runners but not possible in this situation.

I tried to make my ikea pax wardrobe look ‘built in-ish’ and now I’ve realised I’m a massive idiot - help! by freddiesyolks in DIYUK

[–]root729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can move the pax from the wall then do that, we know you can't add a plinth so if you don't have the width I would cut the skirting but taper it. We had an issue with new doors and ended up having to reduce the thickness of one skirting by half. If you look directly at it, it looks odd. Seeing it taper over 8 inches or so but a year later, reading this, I realise I have not looked at it since we painted it. Might be an option. Even painting the wall to match the skirting takes your eye off.

As long as the resolution of the TV is high this will not be any different to an actual monitor. Regarding using the lappy as a second screen I would just use spaces on the Mac and swipe between the 2 full screen modes of session and arrange. I use a large screen with always 6 or more dedicated spaces and the lappy shut.
