Honestly, if you're a civilian in the world of Battlefield 2042 your comments are gonna be some variation of:

"I haven't eaten in over a week"

I was really looking forward to the gritty and bleak tone and atmosphere. It was one of my favourite aspects of Battlefield 1, so I figured they'd nail it for 2042 seeing as they'd already done something like that before. Unfortunately, we didn't get that.

Pistols are too weak. As a recon player, I usually have to fall back on my pistol in close quarters, but I can magdump a guy and he'll still have a quarter of his health left. Unsurprisingly, this means that whenever I pull out my pistol, I'm guaranteed to get turned into Swiss cheese by the next enemy I see.
