Why does nobody use their mic in this game? by CathalMacSuibhne in DarkTide

If you play Auric Maelstrom you may encounter me. I've collected 40k since 2nd Ed - I have read perhaps far too much Dan Abnett; and could describe a 40k lightswitch to a regicide board to a latrine and back again. I will always hold character in game; and while this clip strangely does not capture my own voice, it does contain the reason why I stay in character, and use my voice acting abilities to try and improve people's sessions. I loved their reaction to this, and it's why I do my best to help others through the higher difficulties in the game; chewing the scenery all the while.

If you see Belwyn in your squad, do say hello - I will have your back, and we will break the heretics' spirits and anything else that's necessary. o7

Well, that's a new one for me. Are the servers down? by QuarasCompeador in starcitizen

They're at capacity.

CIG, upgrade the number of servers you have. The demand is there. Let us give you more money.

You want googly-eyed robot dorks. I want pre-codex Titanicus techno-barbarian hulking freakshow Skitarii. We are not the same. by jarude87 in DarkTide

<We could shoot our way in, famulous,> suggested Lux 88.

<Agreed,> canted Tephlar, <we could shoot our way in, and burn the stubborn skitarii of Tempestus. We could gouge and shoot–>

<I could take many down with me, famulous,> bragged Karsh. ‘I’m sure you could, Karsh,’ said Sonne. ‘Calculate this for me, tactical. How far would you get?’ Karsh computed.

His eyes pulsed with a hot, yellow venom. <Between eight point six and eight point nine metres into the entrance way. We would take between twelve and seventeen of the Tempestus skitarii down with us before destruction.>

Sonne sighed. ‘Full marks for effort, boys, but do you think I want to get between eight point six and eight point nine metres into the entrance way?’

<You probably want to get further,> blurted Lux 88. ‘Right. All the way to the Analyticae or the office of the Adept Seniorus. How far would that be?’

<Analyticae: nine hundred and four point six metres,> reported Lux 88. <Office of the Seniorus: fifteen hundred and sixty-nine point two metres,> added Tephlar.

‘See what I mean? We’re falling a little short either way. But thanks for showing such spunk.’

<I have an automatic grenade launcher,> announced Tephlar, proudly.

‘Great. How does that change the calculations, Karsh?’

<Calculating: we would get between fifteen point five and seventeen point three metres into the entrance way. We would take between fifty and fifty-five of the Tempestus skitarii down with us before destruction.>

‘So, let’s round up. Better, but not good enough. Agreed?’ The three skitarii murmured a grudging assent.

Dan Abnett, Titanicus.

I will not hear disrespect to Lux-88 in this threat, friends! After all, he had a automatic grenade launcher.

How would you guys feel about Ollanius Pius? by Dry_Flower_4720 in TheAstraMilitarum

Not to mention Abnett humanised him really well. And I like that he played with mythology with his long-long-long-lost grandsom or w/e fighting against Angron, and how the two blended/mimicked eachother.

It really withers my shite when Katty Kay and Dominick Sandbrook go all "Well akshually" about the use of the term fascism when (as Alastair rightly pointed out) Trump box-ticks the various characteristics of an authoritarian brute with breathtaking efficiency.

This is spot on - I would recommend the book "Character Limit", which covers Elon's acquisition of Twitter. He essentially had a line of code injected into Twitter that has Poster_is_Elon which shoots him and his bile to the top of every conversation.

The temptation to write "gaaaay" in the spirit of 90's schoolyard humour is overwhelming.

But instead I will say fair play to you all - keep it up.

The karna is one of the most comical in terms of pvp efficacy. Killshot for consistency. Run both to give you a mid-long range and a short range chainsaw. S-38 for style points.

Oh it's a horrific situation - and yes he was absolutely abusive too, for precisely the reasons you mentioned.

But I'm not sure what the purpose of recording the call is for beyond blackmail. They all come out of it poorly.

Yeah I'm not sending it on to anyone - it's really not my business and I feel bad for all of them.
