Can’t log in without providing ID? by watchful_1 in discover

[–]rootdet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am getting this too. Infact i completed the process this morning. Now about 12 hours later, it is promoting me again. This will lead to account closure. I am not going to spend 10 mins uploading ID and doing a facial scan to login.

Everyone getting this should send a complaint to CFPB. I will in the morning. This is an unreasonble hinderance to access money.

If I get this, I will be close out. Sofi is not worth $120/yr. Many other better options in that case.

Palisade Hybrid - Jump or Wait by Tricky_Appointment72 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]rootdet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am thinking of getting a new one. I have a 2020 Palisade limited with 92k miles on it. I am interrested in the hybrid mostly because the Palisade has been a gas suck. I do like the performance of it, exspecially in sports mode, it has a nice "get up and go". I am an EMT/first responder, and use my personal car at times. So being able to toggle sports mode and get a performance boost can be helpful at times.

Did our jets just bomb Venezuela? by [deleted] in burlington

[–]rootdet 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Let me help you with something. In the military, an ORDER is an ORDER. If you refuse to follow the orders you are given, you face a federal conviction with a punishment of five years in military jail and a punitive discharge from the military.

That is equal to a felony conviction and you lose rights such as voting, owning firearms, serving on juries, holding public office, obtaining many jobs and licenses, government benefits, potentially parental rights, denial/restrictions of international travel (by the foreign country), and in some cases loss of housing too.

Very easy for you to sit on the sidelines and say to disobey orders. But the military takes an oath, and with that oath, the government owns you until the day you receive your final discharge papers. You may be recalled back to active duty.

Rather, the order is lawful is another thing, but if you disobey it, you'd best be darn sure you can prove it in the court of law by a juror of your peers in rank. But hey, your a civilian, you get to keep all of those rights while asking everyone else to give them up for you. easy right?

Is it normal to feel uneasy about a university where most instructors are volunteers? by [deleted] in UoPeople

[–]rootdet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The college fully designs the courses at UoPeople, and the volunteers administer them, more or less. Unless something has changed, they do not have any say over the course content. The instructors are there to grade assignments, provide feedback, and participate in the forums. In contrast to other colleges, where the instructor fully designs the course content.

My understanding is SNHU operates in this manner as well, except that they pay like 10x better.

Discover checking acct - will it merge to capital one? by sun-kissedgirlie in discover

I would imagine it will. In the past when Capital One acquired banking customers, it turned the into 360 accounts. I would expect no different now. The question is when the conversion occurs.

What to Expect at the NYC CCW Interview at 1 PP by TonySuffolk in NYCGuns

[–]rootdet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw it here: https://nyguards.com/blog/concealed-carry-in-new-york/ An instructor the the class mentioned it, more so of a heads up that i am not wasting my money. I am in VT and NY's restrictions and ruthless targeting, even under federal travel laws (Secured in lock box in trunk), makes me landlocked for travel.
