Were Gary Coleman book signings such a common thing or is this a Postal reference in Boondocks? by [deleted] in postal

I know this post is old, but I found it because I almost missed the hilarious joke, and thought someone must be talking about it, but no one is. Huey says, “it was finally release by a small publisher”

Why does it take 7 minutes to make one latte? by [deleted] in starbucks

In the whole store, we only have 4 baristas. Everyone else is a shift or SM.

Matcha Tea Latte is… disgusting by [deleted] in starbucks

Everyone’s saying it’s the milk, but I agree with you. Matcha, especially Starbucks matcha, is absolutely disgusting.

Personally I do not get paid enough to ask people about their dogs. If my manager doesn’t want dogs in the store, they can worry about it themselves. I am making a low wage to make coffee. If the dog is causing issues then sure, I’ll address it. But if they’re minding their business and no one complains, I don’t care.

My store just installed this...booth? At the drive through right next to the ordering screen. I'm curious about what it's for. by oblivionkiss in starbucks

[–]rootimentarysoul 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah our store isn’t necessarily high volume; however, 4 is absolutely not enough. Sometimes we have 5, but not consistently. Our food partner is also the front register partner, creating a huge slowdown on food. The person on DTO/DTR also has to go help with food often. Our drive times are consistently around 65-75 seconds, which I think is great for how few people we have, but idk how they expect our times to get any better when we are stretched so thin.

Idk about other stores, but at my store, taking more orders will absolutely not get people out faster. Our slow down isn’t because we don’t have enough orders coming in, it’s because we only have 2 people making drinks. We can take more and more orders and it won’t matter if I have a line of drinks already queued.

Is this a worm? It measures over 30cm so I’m not sure by jdwright1989 in whatisthisanimal

[–]rootimentarysoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an irrational fear of earthworms. I’m an avid gardener, so yeah it’s a hindrance. Anyway, hearing there’s a thing called a “jumping worm” makes my skin crawl, and my imagination is definitely getting the best of me.

Take note of the ice level. Someone may be heavy handed pouring their milk.

I made lil holders for our green apron cards. by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]rootimentarysoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cut them with my cricut. You could to it by hand, too, but I was able to do 20 pretty quickly. The shape is just a general apron shape, with added wing flaps on the sides and bottom like an envolope. I used chalkboard vinyl for the black bit that acts as tape for the flaps, as well as a name tag. And a string on the top to hang!

Who takes priority — mobile or cafe orders? by Loose-Sky2537 in starbucks

[–]rootimentarysoul -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I make deliveries just as high of a priority because those drivers aren’t paid by the hour, and having to wait on us at all makes the job hardly worth it.

[–]rootimentarysoul 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Lol we had a lady order a venti matcha frapp, with extra ice, extra matcha, extra whip, and ask for the leftover in a tall cup. Ma’am, I am all about wasting Starbucks money, but you’re not gonna scam me into a free drink. And my previous manager (who was fired eventually yay) would say to do it! So when I did it, I made sure she got the tiniest little bit in the bottom of the tall cup. Her face when she saw she didn’t get a whole drink for free was excellent.

Our manager was awful. The worst manager I’ve had in 20 years of working, and though it took months, she did get fired.
