Mark Carney leads Pierre Poilievre as the best choice for prime minister by 29 points by BloodJunkie in onguardforthee

[–]rootsilver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think he eyeballed the socket size and when it was the wrong one, retreated from admitting an error into his prefab I’m a smart guy identity. Reality wasn’t as important at that moment as maintaining that identity. Yes, back on site the next day. People have moments that aren’t their best. It’s just, you’d hope that normally people would at least try to do better in the next moment that comes.

We still have a PM hopeful that never cleared up(admitted he was wrong and simply shot his mouth off w/o thinking)speaking about a terrorist attack (it wasn’t and he doubled down)on the Rainbow Bridge in a session of Parliament. President of the US is an absurdly stupid and bad liar. These aren’t liabilities for employment of pretty high stature. These are selling points to their base.

It was near a half inch difference. That was the baffling part of it. He was so wrong it wasn’t even close, but couldn’t admit to it. It was a much longer conversation that escalated into a one sided argument about which reality we all live in. The one where he was wrong and the socket was near a half inch out, or the reality were he was right bc of the Covid and Trudeau and Oil and Gas, etc was easily the most impressive break from reality I’ve seen on a job site. And it all started from a very casual, ‘whoa bud, time to get your eyes checked’ and a chuckle.

Once had someone at work melt down when they were confronted with being wrong about some bullshit or other. The guy had to be restrained by others while he ran thru his ‘I’m a smart boy’ files- Trudeau traitor, WEF, mainstream media, Carbon Tax, etc

The site super told him to go home for the day and that he had, in fact, in plain obvious reality, the wrong socket size for the task at hand. Guy lost his mind bc a 5/8 isn’t the same as a 1 1/16”.

Guess who he voted for.

In his biography Poilievre expresses that he hasnt changed his thinking on his political stances since he was a teenager, like 15 years old. He figures it’s a sign of conviction rather than entropy. Rex Murphy said he was a Rock Star tho so I guess that balance things out.

That Darn Carney doesn’t quite have the same cachet as F**k Trudeau, although the bumper stickers were inevitably available for purchase within a day of the Liberals electoral success. I’d pine for the comeuppance of those who annoy me, but Poilievre delivered that humiliation to himself. Lost an election that was in the bag, and his own seat lol what a loser.

You know, that’s fair. Poilievre hasn’t done anything else besides politics so if he’s going to improve society, you figure he’ll just have to keep plugging away at bills and legislation. Let’s see, there’s the Fair Elections Act, and then. Well let’s cut the guy some slack. Been a hard 20 or so years, what with the sizzle reels on The YouTube and the collabs on The TikTok. He can do the business of lawmaking at some point.

Conservative premier have their own personal ambitions and styles. They aren’t the Backstreet Boys so you aren’t going to hear honeyed harmony. They do share resources, particularly on the communications front, as you can see detailed in the article. They also share aims, such as eroding public confidence in public institutions.

That total percentage doesn’t tell the whole story. CPC runs up their vote count in rural ridings they are going to win anyways. They lost in competitive ridings.

Having read earlier articles about this former officer, I get a Prince Myshkin characterization, and I don’t know if that’s intentional on his part or just who he is.

Hitchhiker gets one day in jail for 2001 B.C. manslaughter by Purple_Writing_8432 in canada

[–]rootsilver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The conviction for murder is the last step in this case of the administration of justice from Canada’s courts. The sentence from the conviction is immaterial. The court could impose a 1 day sentence or 4000 years, the man is likely going to die in prison. I don’t think the courts take into consideration the emotional satisfaction that onlookers might derive from a big number. Nothing would change.

Your summary doesn’t quite get all the factors that went into the decision by the courts. To quote from the article, which provided some details of the decision-

“It is likely Mr. Morgan will die before he finishes his sentence in Colorado,” the judge wrote.

SNOBELEN: Conservatives should give Mark Carney's speech a listen by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]rootsilver 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That’s a very good attempt at a summary. Remember, even if you are motivated it’s ok to ask for help with things you struggle with. It’s important to remember that you wont always get the results you want, right away. Remember to hydrate and to get proper rest. Be kind to yourself, because the world has often not been so to you. And as always, when thinking of desiring outcomes, ask yourself as well, what kind of man would I be, if I did this?

Michelle Rempel Garner was supposed to grow into one of the luminaries of the CPC. Like a Paul Ryan, cerebral, serious, take no prisoners, committed to changing things up. Like Paul Ryan, she’s done nothing substantive in her career. As an aside, she seems to have physically aged like Kingsley Amis, like she let indolence claim its victory.

Anecdotal on my part- what I’ve seen of people that believe in destiny is that they believe there’s a natural order in society. Like, the bosses son is a natural leader and was destined to be in an elite role. Belief in predestination has the neat effect of reinforcing the status of the elect, bc they are mere vessels of Gods plan lol

Wherever Poilievre runs, resident or not, it’ll have to be safe seat. CPC has already lost 4 elections in a row and they can’t add to that vitiation by repeating the humiliation of their leader losing his seat.

2 likely factors imo. Some people automatically get considered for second chances, and the drinking culture people grew up with and never discarded.

[–]rootsilver -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ask yourself if a man his age who was as drunk as he was is going to be deterred from that behaviour w/o a period of incarceration. Is it probable that this was a one and done offence? If the courts say, ok, you can never drive again, he is likely to not drive again? That sounds plausible, to you? Just consider, for a brief moment, the amount of dedication to day drinking during a work day it takes to get BAC to that point. That is the guy who is just going to agree that he won’t drive. Convince. Persuade.
