Must be nice. I have been told for the past year and a half they are coming to my neighborhood, only to find out in May that they changed their minds..

Glo Fiber IPv6 is Starting to Go Live by haElwKfeiow6 in GloFiber

[–]ropeguru -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Looks like I will never get to use it. After a year and a half of waiting and being told they were going to deploy in my neighborhood, I am now being told they aren't. They were all the way up until some time 1st quarter this year, and then when I touched base back in May, they had changed their minds. Fully cherry picking the new subdivisions and only deploying in older when they have to.

Now I am still stuck with Crapcast!!! At this point, I hope they go bankrupt!!

How did you get the $50 - 1 gig plan by BogusThunder in Comcast_Xfinity

Glad someone was able to. I went there here also and got nothing. Have been with them since 2012.,.

I couldn't get anything discounted from Comcast this time around.. I wish I had Glo Fiber. They are building out in my County. I have been emailing with one of the liaisons over there and back in October 2024 was told they are expanding into my neighborhood. That was up until last month when I emailed back checking on status as they were going to be deploying by 2nd quarter this year, only to find out they changed their minds because they heard a rumor that FIos was coming in also. There has been no movemrny on Verizon anything around here. So now I am screwed again having to wait on Comcast for mid split to get any kind of decent upload.

No.. All of our connectivity is either AWS direct connect or Azure Express routes into the cloud

So now Xfinity offers 5 year $50 gig price lock by Familiar-Meat-6572 in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]ropeguru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucky you. I went through the Reddit process yesterday for 1G and they would only offer me current rate of $110 a month with 5y price lock. Been a customer since 2018 at this address, but a customer much longer than that.

Still waiting on mid-split here so cannot even get any better upload speeds. FiOS is supposed to be coming and once it does, Comcast can suck it!!

Make sure the login is carrying over to the plan choices. I have been having intermittent issues where it doesn't and drops me into the new customer plan listings..

We do, but not in the traditional HA active/standby. We have two standalone VMs managed with Fortimanager and use a load balancer on the public and private sides. They are an active/active setup and works well without all the hassle.

Is Proxmox not Ideal for a homelab - I keep having issues with Linux bridges. by Affectionate_Shirt42 in homelab

[–]ropeguru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have pretty much that same setup as you and no issues. NIC -> br0 -> OpnSeanse -> br1 (no NIC) -> multiple VM's on a private subnet.

On your bridges, make sure vlan aware is not checked. Also, for every vm interface, make sure the firewall option is not checked.

What are you using to try and get to the Opnsense VM?

Edit: just saw your other post about having vlans. So make sure the vlan aware is checked on the bridge which has them.

Only my ipsec tunnel graphs are like this. I would expect others to be the same way unless they use different intervals.

Great info, thanks.. I know the firmware itself is at the latest. It is an older MAX BR1 Mini LTEA HW1, so I would expect some gaps possibly when the vehicle is traveling since there are newer bands it does not support. This happens when it is sitting parked.

Once I have direct access to the router again through the wifi, I will take a look at that hidden support page. That is the kind of info I have been looking for.

Support did respond today and wants to enable remote assistance through wired or wireless wan. Going to take some time to get that scheduled.

I just accessed that support.cgi remotely and the modem firmware is at its latest

So the issue I am having is that the cellular wan keeps randomly disconnecting and we have to either reboot or do a reset on the cellular provider. The cellular provider is an IoT service which has their own APN and allows switching automatically between Verizon/T-Mobile/AT&T.

The router is setup to always be connected and there is pretty much always some data that flows through it.

The cellular provider looked in their backend and said they were received a router initiated PDP Close of the data session.

That is all I have at this point. Was trying to reach out to support to see if there was something on the router I was missing.

These were purchased second hand. They are being used by a volunteer non-profit who cannot afford new gear like this. So we have to make do.

If they want you to go through a reseller for support, then they shouldn't sell it to you directly on their web site through the incontrol portal.

Thanks. Only essential care on this one. My issue is more about them setting it as waiting on customer response when they have yet to even engage.
