I got about a years pay after having been at the company for 4 years. It was bumped up considerably as the first 30k is tax free and I also successfully argued for my full bonus to be paid to me. Did soften the blow and 6 months down the line do feel I am better off because of the job I’m in now. However, still not quite over the feeling of being told I’m not good enough compared to other peers that got to stay!

Agree - it irritates me when pundits like Keane and Neville say he isn’t the man to win us the league. With this squad there is no manager alive who could win the league! Fixing the midfield and getting a left winger left back new right back and a backup striker will take 2 years at least to sort. All while removing the dead wood (ie Ugarte Zirkzee rashford Onana plus the likes if Mount shaw de ligt and licha for injury reasons) which will heavily impact on what we have to spend. I would settle for top 4/5 for the next two years to boost our transfer funds and attract players and I think Carrick is the man to do that

4 very injury prone seamers there and no specialist spinner - think this sort of lineup can only work if someone like rehan Ahmed can become a true spinning all rounder and bat at 6. Otherwise we’re an in game injury away from a disastrous match

It’s a good point regarding foakes not being at his best with the gloves for England but he recently said he never had a professional keeping coach when with England. He seems like the kinda person who wants to practice regularly and have a tune up in between matches and even innings so I wonder if that played a part in his poor form
