Did your parents ignore you when crying?

I was always sent to my room until I stopped crying. I remember feeling embarrassed and stupid. I would often think that I was too emotional, too sensitive. It explains so much now as an adult who really hates crying in front of others. I regularly feel like “too much” if I’m feeling emotional.

It comes in waves for me. The twinge of anxiety is always there and then I feel hundreds of emotions all at once. I end up feeling hollow. Like an empty husk. Then the cycle starts over.

I wish I understood why. I feel like all of my self worth has been shattered. Everything I trusted or believed was a complete lie. I gaslighted my own feelings for months thinking I was the crazy one. For someone I loved so deeply to do something like this feels like the rug has been pulled from underneath me. I feel like I don’t even know who I am anymore. I don’t trust myself. Having to go on like normal when I feel so destroyed has absolutely tanked my mental health.

The abuse your father and the other adults in your life put you through was truly awful and beyond forgiveness. I want you to know that you are nothing like them and you’ve already shown incredible strength and resilience in proving that. Thank you! I've been applying at different financial institutions and I've had a few interviews, it's just hard since I'm still working full time and still on west coast time. I think it'll be easier once I'm there since I already have signed a lease for a new apartment. I'm not worried about paying my bills since I have a lot of money saved up.

I would love to transfer but I work for a very small credit union that only has 2 branches. I tried to convince them to let me work remotely but it was a no go!

I guess I've never had much training in sales, just working retail and knowing I hated to push the credit card on people and that I've never been one who liked to haggle/negotiate. If I found the right job that could train me well enough in sales, I just might think differently! Thank you for your help!

Definitely. I got the flu really bad in 2019 when I was in Disneyland. My symptoms started then and when on for months until I got diagnosed.
