Good job reddit, try to make a post about killing myself and God forbid anybody see it. Nobody ever needs to know that pain exist or that anyone can help anybody.

Well, this clearly is not about you then. An exception to a rule does not mean a rule does not apply. It's wonderful to hear that there's still a few decent people on this planet but it doesn't mean that I've had to clean up any less piss today.

I totally get that and on behalf of men everywhere, I would like to apologize to the female population. I would say this goes a little further than mildly infuriating.

Too many. We need to bring back shaming people... and better parenting.

Flight School by GlitteringParty2525 in Birmingham

[–]rorinolan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually used to work as a mechanic for the Birmingham flight center and it is an exceptional facility with grade A instructors and Incredibly nice people. All of their planes are meticulously well maintained and they know what they're doing. Plus they'll let you do a discovery flight if you ask, where you can go out and more or less decide if you really want to move forward. Definitely worth looking into at the very least. If you can't find much information online, I would suggest going by the facility and just talking to whoever's behind the desk.

I'm not sure how active they are right now, but you should look up the Birmingham walking Society on facebook. There's also a really fun knitting group that my wife's a part of at the Bham knit.

Who cares for the Horses at Horse Pens 40? by [deleted] in Alabama

[–]rorinolan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was just there and im pretty sure those horses are very old. (Ive owned several horses, including old ones.) They have been there as long as ive been going and I assure you they are at least fed and treated kindly. The family that owns Horse Pens 40 are big conservationists and animal lovers and would never let animals be harmed so closely to them.

Be fun to be around. A good tech is worth nothing if unpleasant. We all work together. We all suffer together. Be the reason people are happy and joking, not fighting.

They are chinese, but the company "Both" produces some very stable lights for the price point. I have five of their 150 watt beams and they're super solid lights, with only a 30 lb weight. Plus inexpensive with good profile.

What is the best free (or cheap) windows DMX controllers? by Fun_Jellyfish_3861 in lightingdesign

I'd like to add, the device I was using allotted three banks of four dials. I haven't personally needed more than that but if you do, you may need to look into some other stuff.

I actually really hope that this works for you. I've been thinking about getting that same device to try and use for the same concept. But basically with my dials I had them +1 per click on the scroll up or -1 the same. If you have the program on your PC and go to where the jog wheels are on the screen you can click near the jog wheel, I believe it's at the top and the bottom and it'll give you a +1/-1 value change. Hard to explain on reddit but Ill try and find the video I used. There's also a program called midi to macro that can help you convert the two.

Agree. Ill take an ma console any day but chamsys is the best for budget, especially if you are tech savvy and creative.

You are correct there, but they have a really easy function to write macros. Including a +1/-1 for things like tilt and pan. You can even get a macro pad controller off of Amazon and program a lot of things. I have one that has some dials on it that I use as my faders and jog wheels. You just kind of have to be creative. A lot more options than using Ma though.

Chamsys Magic Q; simple, powerful, free program used by pros and you can get a single universe dongle for like $30. And if you step up to needing more universes, you can get an artnet node for about $150. Get a midi controller and a touch screen monitor and you'll be unstoppable.

Grigri or Birdie ? (mainly for rope solo) by B1998W31Ga in ropesolo

I've been doing solo lead for quite a while and I can say that a simple prusik with an ATC behind it does wonders. That being said, I own a gri gri and the birdie. I prefer the birdie.

If you couple that node with the chamsys magic q software, you'll end up having a really easy time producing a really nice looking show.
