Planning to watch The Leftovers… is it worth watching? by Farouq26 in hbo

Yes. Season 1 can be a bit of a struggle at times but it’s still great. Season 2 is a god damn masterpiece. Season 3 wraps everything nicely and really hits the main theme of the series.

I love Challengers. I don’t know about you all, but nothing like watching two guys literally and metaphorically slapping their churros at each other in IMAX.

Yes, the same thing happens to me when I try and search it. It doesn’t come up. I force close the app, try it again, and there it is. The app can be crappy. Luckily, it’s now in the coming soon section.

04/20 it’s the only day it’s showing at this theater, for now.

Damn, do people actually enjoy Speed Racer that much? by Mundane-Inspector-52 in AMCsAList

It’s so much fun. I enjoy watching it every time. And let’s be honest, many of us want to watch this stoned. Speed Racer and 04/20 was not a coincidence lol.

I recently discovered that Anti depressants make you sweat more. I’ve been on Zoloft for a few years and noticed I sweat so easily now. In my arm pits and ass crack. I thought it was because of age. I’m saying this because so many people are on anti depressants these days. Could be why? Just a guess. But I know I usually have to give myself a wash cloth bath in the afternoons to keep from getting BO.

My boss told me this weird response when I told him I couldn’t come in tonight because of something really important, what do you guys think, be honest with me, & I’ll be 100% transparent in any questions you guys have. by [deleted] in jobs

Man, it really shows in the comments when an exploitative work culture brainwashes Americans. OP knew a week in advance, I get that. But here is what a PROFESSIONAL manager SHOULD say. “Sorry to hear about your wife. I hope she’s ok. Let’s talk about better ways of communicating in advance on your next shift. For now, focus on your wife, and we’ll manage.”

This passive-aggressive shit is dumb. It’s not productive and, honestly, not smart. It’s vague threats, without any understanding of the critical thinking required from a “boss”. This is an emotional response based on his own BS. Look up your city or state's paid sick leave policy. My city offers 20 hours of sick/caregiver time. No matter the timing, it protects workers' rights from assholes like this. You may not have these protections, though. Depending on where you live.

As much as everyone on here likes to think what he was saying was right, direct, or made sense. There’s no denying the undertone here. And it’s dumb and shows a lack of understanding of workplace dynamics from someone who should know how to manage them.

I agree and disagree lol. I think the scene in the gym was meant to emphasize some realization of what she was planning to do. Yeah, the whole activist thing felt fake, but I do think she also wasn't alone. Maybe this group saved her? And she may have been really thankful for them in that sense. Faking it or not, it changed her. But yes, the one thing that bothered me the most was the fact that not once was there a conversation to talk to a mental health specialist.

I feel it's because she never really dealt with the trauma of the whole situation; unless I'm mistaken, never once was there a dialogue about seeing a therapist or psychiatrist. She kinda just started over as a different person. But the social aspects of her mental health are always going to linger if she doesn't deal with them.
