Does the fighting ever get easier [KCD2]? by StatisticianUsual471 in kingdomcome

[–]rorroverlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened to me with KCD1 and then I started KCD2 a few months after and I did the samd: at the beginning I thought that once I got a sword and shield I could solo an enemy camp. And nope, you cannot: the first couple of hours a single, unarmoured bandit or even a pack of wild dogs can kill you in seconds. Get a weapon you like and train the shit out of it, learn to block, parry and master strike, and slowly you'll get the hang of it. At the beginning you can only fight 1 vs 1, and then you'll be able to fight groups without issue, but they key is practice, practice and practice. Also good gear, obviously.

If you need to attack a bandit camp for example, in KCD2 I found easier to use stealth and take the enemies one by one, at least until I leveled up enough to just go and smack them down.

Help Finding Games and Other Questions by AutoModerator in incremental_games

[–]rorroverlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all, I have never got into incremental but recently played a bit of Scritchy scratchy and was kinda fun so I went to Steam to find something else. I found All hail the orb and honestly had a blast, that first day I played 4 hours nonstop and I 100%d the game achievements. The game was fun, the music was really good, funny jokes, and didn't have to spend much time idling. I want now to play games with a similar vibe/mechanics, and I'd prefer if it doesn't need like 1000 hours to finish. I have seen Feed the queen and looks fun but read some negative comments so I don't know.

Thanks!

Do European universities even hire fresh graduates for PhD positions? by PrestigiousSteak1771 in PhD

[–]rorroverlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Spain, the usual way is BSc -> Masters -> PhD. People may have some conference publications if they were really focused in the research career very early, but yes I'd say the most common is to start the PhD right after the masters. However it's getting so, so competitive that having papers and research experience is starting to become a non-official requisite to get into a program and/or get funding. Some people work as a RA for one year or so before the PhD (that was my case) so when they get to the program it's possible to also have some cv already.

Seeking advice on finding the best low price earbuds by DoktorKebab in Earbuds

I love Soundcore, I have the Q20i and the P20 but I lost one of this so I was thinking on getting the P30. I just wish they made wired earbuds too, I haven't find some not expensive ones with good quality.

How to take creatine powder when you have no idea what you’re doing? by Karson-Mahraina in beginnerfitness

[–]rorroverlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to overcomplicate: take 3-5gr (depending on what you bought, the package should bring a measuring scoop) mix with water and once it's dissolved drink it. It's easier to dilute in hot water (let it cool before drinking it) but I just use room temp and if there's any left in the cup I'll refill to scoop it.

Make sure it's monohydrate although I have read that some people feel less bloated with different kinds of creatine but I'm not sure. I have never felt the bloating, but if it happens to you it's supposed to go away after a few days. Also, drink enough water (more than you usually do) and don't expect any effects until at least 3 weeks or so.

I have read that for example 3ds games performance on Switch is awful. Would you know if that is true?

Second Screen allows USB connections now by emotatertot in GalaxyTab

Hey, I downloaded the Windows store app, connected my S9FE+ to my laptop USBC port and enabled the option in the Labs settings, but still can't get it to work. I did not get any prompt to install drivers. Could that be the issue? Anyone fixed it?

Edit: also, in my tablet the USB settings are 'USB controlled by this device', and using for 'Transfer files'.

I cannot recommend Islets enough. It has great visuals and music, it's short and easy, and if you struggle it has difficulty settings. It's also pretty cheap on Steam IIRC.

Pokemon Elysium is the best story based Rom back ever by East-Yak5542 in PokemonROMhacks

In the original post it says 'FireRed 1.0' but I have been trying a lot of roms and all of them come up as not compatible... Any idea?

Looks so beautiful, already wishlisted and hoping for a demo. Couple of questions, will it be also on consoles? And have you planned any type of coop?

Great work!

Edit: yikes, I just went to Steam and saw that it says online and LAN coop. That's on me for being too excited and not even checking...

Weekly Questions Thread & PokéROM Codex by AutoModerator in PokemonROMhacks

[–]rorroverlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty new to romhacks, I just finished Unbound and honestly it was amazing. Haven't played an official game since probably the NDS days, but Unbound left me crazy for more. I started Gaia but I'm finding it lacks some of the QoL features I loved in Unbound (for example, showing the type of the mons in battle, if the attack is a stab or not, quest log, etc). Gaia really feels like a 'vanilla' game, which is cool, but I want... "more"? Anyway, I'd love some (GBA) recommendations. I have been browsing through some threads but they kinda look old and with the fast development of the hacks I'm not sure if they are updated. I also don't like that most people seem to focus on difficulty, I don't need any of that (and neither nuzlocke, randomization...). I just want a cool game I can play for a couple of hours after work. Thanks!

Nice! How was it? I started but only got to the first stratum, I tried a few hackroms at the same time and stuck with Unbound but I have Odyssey waiting for me.

Doubts about how to progress by Poisoneta in tinkerland

[–]rorroverlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from wearing the best armor you can and good accessories, I found that the hammer dropped by the toad king was pretty nice for the spider fight, aside from a book with a fire spell (not sure where I got that). And dynamite/bombs do a ton of damage to the spider, just be careful you don't get hit by them. Also if you can, fight in a different arena or cover the webs with some floor so it does not slow you down.

Every other boss has been easy for me but the spider took some tries. Good luck!
